This place is awesome....if you like used car dealers and feeling like a bad pet owner. I started going here because they participated in the reduced cost spay/neuter program that OHS was sponsoring. I had been quoted $500 by another place (give me a break- -I'll get to that review later) and this place was charging like $65, which is actually so cheap that I was nervous- -but I reasoned that it was being subsidized by OHS and therefore OK......so I felt more confident that I wouldn't arrive to pick up my dog and find that s... read more
After taking rescue pups there for the past 3 years this place has lost my business after the last 2 pups i took in to be spayed. One 'they may have missed something" and she may go into heat and one they removed an umbilical hernia when i requested they look at a hernia on the pups bum...They are way too pricey and have caused me to take 2 dogs in a row to another competant vet...lost my business and owning a rescue that is alot of business!
I've been taking my three cats here for a few years now, and have had decent service. The staff is friendly enough and the doctors are nice. Plus, they accept walk-ins, which is great, especially for vaccinations. However, they constantly push things like their Dental Club, which I recognize is a good deal... but this is where I ran into complications on my last couple visits. I arranged to take all three of my cats in for their yearly shots. At that point, the doctor recommended that I bring the two older cats in for thei... read more
I felt that it would be irresponsible not to post a review about what had happened to my cat this past week. I'm still so hurt by it. I didn't want to write a bad review, but other people need to know what happened before they take their animal to this vet. As a backstory, my cat is 17 years old. He's still fully functional, happy and healthy. That is, until we took him into Tigard Animal Hospital for his haircut. We've taken my cat here for a long time with few problems. The vet techs are always very nice to my cat except ... read more
I hate to write this review but I feel irresponsible not to. For the record, I haven't contacted Tigard Animal Hospital with a complaint asking for any type of reimbursement. I have an old pug (a fully functional grandpa). He went in to see the vet because of difficulty breathing. I suspected some type of respiratory tract infection because he's had one in the past. The vet (young lady) did the exam and suggested an x-ray, because of "abnormal" bone structure. I said ok, x-ray took a few minutes and a couple hundred bucks.... read more
To the Manager of Tigard Animal Hospital, I am contacting you about a bill that was sent to me 9 months after services. I was told there was an issue with my card be charged. My dog Ginger had some wounds on her feet. I was told to try soaking her feet in a solution to remove them. When this did not work I was told you would need to Biopsy the wart like bumps. I called in and was given a cost for treatment. Although we were not prepared at the time for such an amount, we agreed (my husband and I) to seek the treatment. I dro... read more
We went here with our new dog the second day we had him. A bonus for getting us in the same day; but that's about it. The receptionists weren't very friendly. I'm not saying I'm expecting a receptionist to kiss my feet, but looking me in my face at least would be nice. Or a smile; you know, human contact kind of things? Nope. Not happening. We waited 45 minutes passed our appointment time. All the while my dog is going nuts. It's clear he needs to get away from these other animals and see a doc soon, I'd think. No one pa... read more
I wanted to let everyone know about my experience with Tigard Animal Hospital. I had taken my 1 year old rabbit (Chewie) there to get spayed. I dropped her off early on 6/21/10 and was told to pick her up late that afternoon. They told me that they would call me if there was anything wrong or if they had any questions. Dr. Ken Genova preformed the spay on chewie. I came back at close to 4 pm to pick up her up. I asked if everything had gone ok and if she had been eating and drinking. They said that everything went smoothly... read more
They push services that, while not harmful to the animal, are of negligible benefit. They also use fear mongering as a sales tactic. After loading up these unnecessary services, they hit you with a big bill without any indication of the price up front. They will tell you the price if you specifically ask. One unnecessary service the took me for was a rabis vaccination for a 16 week old in-door only kitten. Other vets refuse to give this vaccination before 6 months of age because they consider it to be of little benefit ... read more
