Today I woke up to my youngest cat Piccolo in a lot of pain. I made an appt. and took him in (where he has gone once before to have his balls removed). The vet Rita Lawler was such a heartless & rude lady. She touched my cats belly & said he is blocked & it will cost anywhere from $1700 to $2100 to fix or he will DIE (those are her exact words). I said I didn't have that kind of money and that I would try to get it. She told me to hurry up because he didn't have much time. Then she left the room and we could hear her say to ... read more
I would go elsewhere if you can, or at least get a second opinion before treatment or surgery. Basically, the end of the story is that I highly suspect they killed my cat during a routine procedure. I have no proof other than a huge gut instinct and her blood work and demeanor leading up to her routine dental cleaning. The vet called and had no reasoning or idea what had happened and I had to go in to the office and put her down because of the severe brain damage. This cat was older, but was off the charts health wise, and... read more
As a pet-care professional I heard many horror stories about this animal hospital. I would never go there. Just my opinion, of course. NO STARS GIVEN but could not post without giving it one star.
Disappointed is the best word I can use to describe my last visit - I brought my 3rd animal into the clinic to get her de-worm and spay. When I called for prices, I was advised that there would be a charge of $14.50 should she have fleas. I have 4 cats - all indoors, never outside - I was confident that the flea charge wouldn't be applicable in my case. When I arrived to pick her up, I was told she had fleas and they had charged me. I asked the receptionist about it - what it was they found to warrant charging me cause I'v... read more
Overpriced, unfriendly, and they try to guilt / up sell you on everything. I've been in here twice, once for my cat to be spayed and another time when my dog was very sick. I would never recommend them. No one was friendly and the vet tech couldn't even tell me what the medications were that she was prescribing and had to go ask the vet. Really?
This place is awesome....if you like used car dealers and feeling like a bad pet owner. I started going here because they participated in the reduced cost spay/neuter program that OHS was sponsoring. I had been quoted $500 by another place (give me a break- -I'll get to that review later) and this place was charging like $65, which is actually so cheap that I was nervous- -but I reasoned that it was being subsidized by OHS and therefore OK......so I felt more confident that I wouldn't arrive to pick up my dog and find that s... read more
Business response:
Thanks for the review Emily. I'd like to explain something really quick: Our job is to teach our clients how to take great care of their pets. It's our clients' job to then either accept those recommendations or not. We don't force anyone to accept our care though; if they don't like our recommendations they have every right to go to another clinic that better fits what they're looking for. Either way, we are going to do what we feel is best for the pet in every case. We're not going to offer better or worse servic... read more
After taking rescue pups there for the past 3 years this place has lost my business after the last 2 pups i took in to be spayed. One 'they may have missed something" and she may go into heat and one they removed an umbilical hernia when i requested they look at a hernia on the pups bum...They are way too pricey and have caused me to take 2 dogs in a row to another competant vet...lost my business and owning a rescue that is alot of business!
I've been taking my three cats here for a few years now, and have had decent service. The staff is friendly enough and the doctors are nice. Plus, they accept walk-ins, which is great, especially for vaccinations. However, they constantly push things like their Dental Club, which I recognize is a good deal... but this is where I ran into complications on my last couple visits. I arranged to take all three of my cats in for their yearly shots. At that point, the doctor recommended that I bring the two older cats in for thei... read more
I felt that it would be irresponsible not to post a review about what had happened to my cat this past week. I'm still so hurt by it. I didn't want to write a bad review, but other people need to know what happened before they take their animal to this vet. As a backstory, my cat is 17 years old. He's still fully functional, happy and healthy. That is, until we took him into Tigard Animal Hospital for his haircut. We've taken my cat here for a long time with few problems. The vet techs are always very nice to my cat except ... read more
