If your child's main issue is having an eating disorder, do not send them to TK. They do not know what they are doing. My daughter who was a minor was able to manipulate their staff into believing she was a vegetarian. She has never been a vegetarian and anyone who is knowledgable about eating disorders knows that you can not become a vegetarian after the onset of the illness. It's just another way to restrict their food. Needless to say my daughter relapsed soon after she came home. She also was terrified while she was... read more
My time at TK was one of the most painful and frustrating experiences in my life, and not in a good way. I found TK online and thought it was going to be a magical place got me to heal and center myself. It was a nightmare. Almost half of my meals were supervised by people who didn't know how the meal plans worked and didn't give support. There are far too few staff for how many patients they have. The program here almost cost me my life. When they finally acknowledged that I wasn't doing well they decided I should be s... read more
It's taken me a long time to write this review.. And I'm still struggling to find the words to explain.. I was at Timberline Knolls for 2 months in 2013 after being hospitalized for severe PTSD (waking up screaming and crying in the middle of the night, etc). #1 - I never had an eating disorder, so this part of my review is for their so called "Trauma program." ZERO stars for that because it's non existent. They placed me in groups for girls with anorexia and drug problems. No one, not even the therapist, addressed my PTSD... read more
Timberline Knolls was the worst experience I have had in treatment. If you do not have an eating disorder, you might not want to go here. They have no interest in helping you unless you have an eating disorder. Bridget the therapist was the worst mental health professional I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The state that you will get three sessions a week. I only saw her twice in the 10 days I was there. I was suffering from depression and suicidal ideations. Never were those issues addressed. If you don't t... read more
I specifically made this yelp account to rate TK because I hope I can help others. This place is literally satan's s*** hole. I had signed a 72 and was never allowed to leave without explanation. In a two month stay I saw my awful therapist Sarah 3-4 times and she could never recall a detail about me. Upon discharge, they went ahead and consulted with my parents even though I SPECIFICALLY never signed a release to communicate with my parents because I have had poor experience with that in the past. They told them I was disch... read more
There are a lot of times in my life where I know I've gone wrong. I don't claim to be perfect and I own my faults. The staff at TK think this is a game and that everyone fits in the same box of the same game. Answers to some of my questions were "I know the answer and I'm just not going to play this game with you!" . I never did figure out the game, but the type of treatment from staff that were obviously in over their head and not very well trained was astounding. There was a patient's bill of rights that as soon as I start... read more
We had a few patients with horrible experience, expensive, waste of money, fraudulent billing, doctors do not spend time nor see patients, mostly group therapy or individual psychologist 1-2 times a week. Inefficient care team, unable to obtain prior approval from Insurances. Patients will receive bill!! Timberline is a money grabber once the patient is admitted. Poor Quality of treatment, not helpful. Never, Never, Never recommend any friends or family to this facility. - Joan Miller
Do not trust what they say about your insurance being approved. They never even tried to meet the requirements and didn't tell me for four more days. I got stuck with a. 7 k bill!!!! They discharged me with no plan. I am now back to square one.
I've actually been to Timberline Knolls twice. Both times I had very bad experiences. The first time was better than the second but still it was just opening so they didn't have much of a program going. The second time I went I actually got hit on after I was out by a staff member who actually looked me up on facebook. Very Unprofessional and disgusting The Doctor I had there was named Dr. Kahn and he was never around and never saw me for more than a few minutes every few weeks and it was obvious he really didnt care about m... read more
