I can't express any more eloquently the one-star reviews posted here. This facility is AWFUL. There is a heavy emphasis on treating eating disorders and if that's not your problem you are wasting your time. I went for help for my PTSD, and was pretty much force-fed. I was also forced to attend AA meeting despite the fact that I have never been addicted to anything in my life. I made it clear in my initial phone call with TK that a month was all I could pay for. The woman with whom I spoke assured me they could stabilize me... read more
My close family member was at this facility for six weeks. We were told they could help someone struggling with borderline personality disorder and we liked the fact that the facility is only for women and is local. This facility truly specializes in eating disorders. They will tell you they can work with addiction, bipolar, bpd, etc, but the truth is, they do eatting disorders. Period. Whether or not they even do that well I cannot attest to because my family member did not have that issue. Every time I visited,... read more
My daughter was a resident here in early 2017 for 2 weeks (before I removed her due to mistreatment) for major depressive disorder. This is NOT the place for you if you have anything other than an eating disorder. The staff are not equipped to help residents with depression and other mood disorders. My daughter met with her psychiatrist a total of 4 minutes over a 2 week period. One night the nurse gave my daughter someone else's medications. The staff are incompetent and uncaring.
Please do yourself and the people you love a huge solid and pick literally anywhere but here for treatment, especially if you do not have an ED. I am deeply disturbed by the [longest and worst] week [of my entire life] that I spent there feeling absolutely trapped, helpless, and completely misunderstood. The majority of the staff (specifically in the Willow lodge) is condescending and seemingly uneducated on how to actually help women in recovery. I left there feeling profoundly worse than I felt before I willingly checked m... read more
First of all, the majority of the staff are insensitive young ladies that are fresh out of college and lack empathy for residents. The nurse, Nicole on Maple Lodge needs to be fired. Being a facility directed toward the recovery of women, she was probably the most insensitive person I came across at the facility. The staff also insisted that some girl's boyfriend smuggled in heroine. The staff "randomly" selected 5 residents to interrogate and demanded drug tests. At the time, no one really left the lodge because the dining ... read more
We had a terrible experience at Timberline. We were told that they would appeal any insurance decision to discharge her from Timberline after only 7 days of treatment. Wrong, they did not appeal and my daughter was discharged against all advice from her local counselor, psychiatrist, and family doctor. Very, very disappointing.
My husband found this place for me because I have BPD and need intensive DBT therapy and coping skills for anger which always led to suicidal ideations and/or actions. Because I've been vegan who wouldn't eat soy for four years they treated me like I had an eating disorder, and I mean they put A LOT of effort in insinuating I was someone I was not, not letting me eat what I wanted, making me show them my food before and after I after, making me feel very uncomfortable. If you suffer night terrors or flashbacks in your room, ... read more
I wish I had photos to add because Timberline Knolls looks nothing like this. Not to mention residents are not allowed outside unless accompanied by staff and for only 10-15 minutes at a time. So I have no idea where that rolling stream is. Now to the important stuff. If you are suffering with an eating disorder or struggling with substance abuse this is probably a good place for you. I suffer with major depression and anxiety and did not fit in at all. About 50% of residents suffer from eating disorders and are 18-25. ... read more
After many 10 years of struggling with both anorexia and bulimia, anxiety and depression, it had crossed a line after a serious suicide attempt due to a trauma I had also not been coping with. It was clear that I needed an inpatient facility that treated comorbitity and although I live in New York, it is one of the only centers that will help with severe trauma therapy. Before we left NY, it had already been cleared for at least a week that my insurance completely covered it. And with the symptoms I had, no mental health pro... read more
