As a parent when you reach the point of deciding that a residential treatment facility is the best option for the safety of your child it means that you have exhausted nearly all other options - this is the most challenging, excruciating decision that most of us will ever make. That being said - when you ask yourself how far you would go to protect your child and keep your child safe, it should start with NOT sending your child to Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment facility. To say that my child had a negative experienc... read more
This place was absolutely horrible. I have borderline personality disorder so I went there for DBT. Once I got there I was informed that there was only DBT 2 days a week when the person in admissions told me there was DBT every day. I also didn't know that I would be out with people who had flashbacks every day. People were screaming and hurting themselves and banging their heads on the floor. Also if you're in the adolescent lodge they won't let u call anyone for 42 hours which is something I was not informed of. Admissions... read more
TK is horrible, and the website is completely misleading. Do not go here, I was completely scammed. I feel bad for my insurance company paying for me to come here. I came for OCD and was told by my psychiatrist that they don't treat OCD, and I was wasting my time & their time by being there. My meds were also wrote down wrong, so I received the wrong dose for a month. TK made me much worse.
I literally would not recommend TK to my fucking worst enemy. I was a patient there for two months on willow lodge and made some great friends. I made these friends however because of a mutual hatred for this facility. The staff was incredibly incompetent and would avoid clients who were having breakdowns leaving their peers to comfort them. Also, my therapist was an ACTUAL RAPIST and sexually assaulted friends of mine. Literally look him up Mike Jacksa. While the staff was looking the other way, clients were binging, pur... read more
If you not there for a eating disorder they have no plan.Youll see a councellor 2 times in a week for 35 minutes.I swear my daughter was worse when she came out. Also be careful on the omni drug store. They dont have or care or submit insurance properly. My daughter had her full month of rx and they ordered it anyway and charged me 4700.00 for it.After 4 months of battle it was reduced to 70.Furthermore they send to collection agency in 15 days. All they care about is food .They reward with food ironically when they diagnose all... read more
Upon entering a different residential treatment program for our daughter, we see that TK is probably going through a transition period. I never once heard from the Psychiatrist, although multiple requests were made to have a brief, touch-base call. Daughter was not allowed to express herself honestly in groups because of the fear of triggering others, according to the group leaders. Very little outdoors/physical movement allowed. Misrepresentation of some of the program features.
My first time in treatment for anorexia was at TK. I was 19, very sensitive and innocent. I did not know what I was getting myself into. I literally cried nonstop for days when I first came. I felt like nobody was taking care of me. When I first arrived none of the staff welcomed me or even acknowledged my presence. My belongings were searched without my knowledge. I didn't get all of my stuff back to me after being searched until my second night there. I was stripped naked to be "body checked" and I had never been so terr... read more
This place is terrible. The staff is incompetent and placed me on a lot of medications that I didn't need. Because I went as a minor I was unable to be heard and felt like my opinion was not valid. I had to go to a different center after. Overall, this place is terrible and I don't recommend it .
My four days at Timberline Knolls were absolutely the most traumatic of my life. I received dangerously unconcerned medical care, was misled about what the program was, and was coerced into admission. The staff are not only unkind - the majority of them are outright negligent. They will not tell you that you are in a locked facility and that every time you leave - even for a medical appointment, you're subjected to a strip search upon return. I went to the ER my first night and waited for an ambulance for 3 hours. I was told... read more
