I think that they are a great company. Universal Builders of America, Inc. did what they are supposed to do. Their overall work was great.
Universal did a very good job. They did exactly what they were contracted to do and they worked well with my insurance person and cleaned up well after the job was finished.
The company was very professional. The quality of the work was exceptional. We were very pleased and would highly recommend them. I was especially pleased with their communication.
When they put our hot water heater vent on …the cap was bent worse than the one from hail damage. Even worse, the new one was shiny new metal and they painted it black! It looks ridiculous..I did not realize they had done that til my husband went up on roof and saw it🤦🏻♀️until that point I was very happy with the roof job…now , not so much😔
Follow up by the QA team. If you need to repair a brand new attic fan (one of three) then communicate with me and tell me when it will be done. Overall the install went ok, except not connecting power to the fans and improperly installing a ridge vent that was removed from the contract.
The crew they hired to do the job didn't do a good job. Someone else had to come and spend a day and a half, and it is still not resolved. It took two days for the roof, and there was no problem there. It was not done correctly, and we are still picking up trash. There was a lot of damage to our home from the experience, and I would not recommend them to anybody else.
DO NOT HIRE- Company uses unlicensed subs, cuts corners, shingles over wood rot, does not follow installation guidelines for the products they use, will not answer or respond to calls or emails and will likely completely forget about your job after you pay. They will bill you and your insurance even after the job is finished and you have been final invoiced. They will supplement your insurance to fix their own mistakes. Buy Owens-Corning products, they are very high quality and quite attractive, but DO NOT use this installer. If anything goes wrong, you'll be months getting it rectified if at all. Not a pleasant experience.
