Uptown Hounds was founded in late 2006 by Steve Robinson, a Lexington, Kentucky native. He envisioned a true resort for our beloved canines where all expectations would be surpassed and spent 18 months developing the concept and constructing the Lexington resort. Centered on family and hospitality, the Uptown Hounds resort is an all-inclusive home away from home, including vibrant activity for dog-loving families.

RecommendedOur dog Austin spent the weekend at Uptown Hounds and this was the first time he had ever been boarded. The staff was wonderful and so inviting when we dropped him off. We were very pleased with everyone there and Austin seemed to have a great time. They also didn't seem to mind that I called everyday to check on him. :) We decided to have him groomed while he was there and they did an excellent job. I wish I could post a picture of my Lucy yesterday... She is a rambunctious 2 year old terrier. But yesterday she had SUCH a great time at UHs that she was konked out all the way home! (Nicholasville) It was awesome! We've used this place for over a year and we've always been happy with the service!
My German Shepherd cries and jumps for excitement whenever we pull in. Couldn't ask for a better group to watch my fur baby! The piece of mind is worth the money, plus all of the amenities. Great job!
We take our English Pointer Jules to Uptown a couple days a week and we absolutely love this place. Jules is always SO excited to go play with her buddies! They take great care of her and clearly love dogs. Couldn't be more pleased!
Terms Steve Lewis 2 reviews just now New Unfortunately our experience with Uptown Hounds was not positive. Our 1yr old female Rottweiler is the sweetest girl. I say this with full awareness that she is still very much a puppy. She has been to a 2 week board and train, has been socialized since she was 8 weeks old and her best friends are 2 Bengal Cats and a disabled (paralyzed) French Bulldog. I am writing this review to give caution to those looking to get their pup groomed here. I tried uptown hounds for the first time after having to find a new groomer my last one moved. I thought since they asked for vaccination records they would be legit. I messaged them through text and gave them a heads up that my sweet 9 y/o sheltie has alopecia x and stage 3 kidney disease and was having some hair loss only on his hind quarters.
