I'm really upset to be honest. we paid 3000 for idk what. to end up putting my babygirl down because they couldn't figure out what was going on. I've worked at a vet facility before and never heard of having to pay for things to get done before it gets done and them say oh but it's a possibility that the animal won't make it. the vets I worked with did everything they could to figure it out. but this hospital wanted us to keep paying and paying. Unbelievable! The past 48 hrs have been one of the most stressful periods of my 66 years. Finn, our beloved GSD of 8 years started acting strange Tuesday when he wouldn't eat and was walking slowly with his head down like he had done something bad. He hadn't. Having had 5 GSD's including Finn's brother/litter mate Moose we're in tune with our dogs. I was just turned away from here after I have been here multiple times before. They told me they had too many animals and didn't even took my dog vital. I hope the West Springfield vet won't do that because it's not easy driving 25 mins to be turned away.

Called them at 11 AM and they told me they’d call me to let me know when to arrive. Hadn’t heard by 2 so I texted. Finally called me after receiving text and told me to come in for 3:00. How does an emergency vet hospital work if you can’t go in with your dog? Vet told me over the phone that everything was fine (it wasn’t anywhere near fine). My dog was staggering. Dr. Boucher did a very thorough assessment of the Misty and at the time she was here she was no longer exhibiting the clinical signs that you saw at home other than a mild head tilt. I took my sick animal to VESH. After waiting hours in the car, they brought him inside, swinging the carrier around as they walked away from my car (keep in mind he was naturally more anxious and the way they handled him did not help). After waiting another hour, they called me with two options: put him down, or agree to pay $3-5k. There's no middle ground with them. Absolutely would NOT recommend this place! I could handle the 9 hour wait in the parking lot ( Porta potties are outside, they won’t let you use their bathrooms) , it was the lack of communication and their completely wrong diagnosis. After calling them every day for 4 days for the results of my dogs lab work and why he was sick they finally suggested I take my dog to Tufts. Deerfield never sent my dogs records but within 15 minutes Tufts knew why my dog was so sick. There was no 9 hour wait, no talking to a doctor over the ... read more

The only thing I can recommend about VESH is to stay away! I dropped my 12 week old puppy off at 1pm Wednesday with a deposit of 1300$. Wednesday night I was called and informed that the puppy's kidneys were failing. I was told they tested for Lepto and the snap test came back negative. I was told they were going to start treating him for Lepto and that the more accurate test had been done but it would take days to come back. Thursday morning I got a text at 8:30am telling me that I was 500$ over my deposit. I got a ca... read more

I don't think that I had ever been more frantic and scared. I called different places, spent Friday night in a parking lot at a different "emergency vet" (I use quotes because they couldn't manage an emergency) the one in Windsor,. Their $800 verdict was that he was a "very sick kitty." But, couldn't do anything for him. VESH did EVERYTHING for him. And, he is home. They could have been crooks and kept him for another night. They didn't. They were even happy when I was the crazy cat lady who called to tell them he was e... read more
