My grandma was admitted to Victorian Post Acute (VPA) in 2021. This review is based on my experience during the COVID-19 pandemic. I would have given Victorian Post Acute a 2 or 3 if something terrible didn't happen. I cannot recommend VPA after what I had to go through. Don't expect 5-star hotel experience at Victorian Post Acute. Being a nursing facility that accepts MediCal, you get service what the government pays for. The service my father received here was far below average. The staff was uncommunicative and cold. In a time where you can not visit it made them nearly impossible to deal with.
My uncle has been here for almost two years. Traveled from Florida to settle my uncle's stuff. He passed last Thursday. They seemed pleasant when I arrived. How ever after couple days I realized how incompetent they accidentally were. My uncle wanted to stay there so I didn't have much to say. For the most part staff were helpful to my mom. I was not very pleased with the cleaning of my moms room. I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with their manager. She was very rude and bossy. She got very defensive and actually said that I could take my mom elsewhere. It was totally unprofessional and uncalled for. Please do not bring your loved one to this facility. I understand that it is challenging for a facility to care for people who are elderly or at the end of their life, but my family member had a painful stay during her 5 months in this facility. While recovering from her stroke, my family member developed an open wound that gradually expanded and necrosed. Don't let the photos fool you, this place is a dumpster. If you care about your loved ones, take them somewhere else. Anywhere but here. My aunt spent a couple of weeks here and it was hell for her. The nurses weren't attentive at all. Expect them to come 30min-1hr after calling for them. It's like they are too bothered to be helping at all. The rooms were a cramped and hot mess. This place is DISGUSTING and terrible. I visited my grandma here multiple times in the course of 2-3 weeks here. This place is filthy and dirty. Everything here is either broken or doesn't work. The nurses here do not care about any of their patients and are overworked. The staff is very rude as well. They argue and yell at the patients and at family members as well. This place struck me as below average of its kind. I didn't like the phone situation at all. The patients don't have individual phones. I was told by the front desk to call the nursing station because it had a portable phone that was passed around to patients to use. I was unable to reach my boyfriend at all using this means because no one ever answered the phone (I wonder if it was cleaned between purported uses?).
