I never hear from Americor for how my case is going. Are my creditors being paid because I constantly being called and now I’m in collections. I need to know what is going on and when will my creditors start getting paid?
When I started with them, my understanding was that the program will be a total of 48 months and I will have to deposit every month an amount of $330 . Bu t a few months ago they contacted me a few times about settlement with some of my creditors but mentioned to me that I might need to add more money for them to settle. It happened a few times and I feel that Americor negotiator are competing who can get more money out of any settlement. That is just my feeling of how they handle my settlement program.
I didn't find them helpful at all. They processed the application, but were not helpful in closing the deal.
I liked it at first. But…..I was told to “trust the process”. In this “process” I got sued twice. Sent in the legal docs, court dates came and went, I lost the case - of course - but then they garnished my wages. And STILL no one contacted the 2 creditors who now have judgements against me and are garnishing my wages. Once I finish paying off one, the next one kicks in. I dislike the fact that you raised the amount of what I was paying when all I was supposed to pay was the set amount of $162/mo.
What in the world?? I was told specifically that there would be NO withdrawal from my account UNTIL I actually make a deposit into my account. Did I ever do this? NO, I did not. I was STILL trying to decide what to do and then I wake up this A.M. and SEE a $312 withdrawal from my checking account! This is UNACCEPTABLE! I have ALREADY PAID my creditors for this month! Things would've been much better off had I had dealt directly with the institutions. One of the institutions interest grew by more than $1000 because of the delay with no reduction with Americor's intervention. The fee charged - 29% - was either completely misunderstood or erroneously stated. Also there was a settlement offer of @$1400 from one of the institutions was not addressed a month prior to the final dealings and final cost for that debt was over $1800! I am most unhappy to put it kindly......
Customer Service After asking questions about my account, the agent unexpectedly transferred me to another person. I had asked a question in regard to lowering my settlement fee and the agent responded, "Well it could be". The answer should have been either yes or a no. Thats when she disconnected me.
Until now, I cannot give an opinion and what I have to say is that what they informed me when I signed the contract is that Americor would cancel the debt in 7 days and I would be left paying the debt to you, more than 10 days have already passed and The accounts are the same, it was not what was explained before signing the contract. I would like to talk to someone in Spanish.
