I use this as my secondary vet as they provide some additional hours and services my regular vet does not provide. Overall their vets are very competent but the customer service and overall organization of the place leave a lot ot be desired. I made an appointment and I made the mistake of never clarifying the date. As a result, I came on the right day of the week but on the wrong week. I moved to park slope with two cats that I recently adopted, and I chose to go to Animal Kind after seeing all the positive reviews (I also live a block away from the clinic). One of my cats, Moe, has a tendency to get urinary tract problems. I saw Dr. Werner and Dr. Frydenborg for separate visits, and was pleased they put so much effort to make sure that Moe gets proper treatment for his problem. I am a big fan of this practice. I first came here after hours for an emergency visit with Dr. Moorehead who is funny, calm, amazing... and I was so impressed that it became my regular vet. They are very reasonable for emergency visits compared to other animal hospitals. I now use Dr. Warner as my regular vet, and I adore her-- she is genuinely concerned for my elderly dog and has totally worked with me, and tried to come up with a treatment plan that I could afford. I love this place!! Dr. Witherell is one of the most amazing physicians I have ever worked with, either human or veterinary. My girlfriend and I have three pets, all with slightly different needs. Bopser, one of our cats, is super easy. She goes in for checkups and exists in a healthy state. Lil' Moe, the other feline furball, is pretty healthy but has a bit of a sensitive stomach. Lulamae our dog loves going to Animal Kind. She loves the kind and friendly staff and pulls as we get closer to arrival. She doesn't object to the vets and staff touching her and actually likes being there. I find the vets and staff knowlegable and helpful showing patience and compassion for both animal and human (who is usually worried and hoping for the best.) The front desk and groomer were amazing. They're very upfront about the costs and went out of their way to help keep my visit within (and even below) budget. I've tried a lot of different vets and this was only my visit to Animal Kind, but I would trust them completely without worrying that they're trying to overcharge me.

I have two dachshunds and am an admittedly nuts over the slightest thing that might ever be wrong with them, particularly the 14-year-old, who recently suffered from a back injury. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Morehead is, and how lucky we feel to have found him. He's probably the best vet we've ever had - smart, thorough, patient and really listens. We took our English bulldog to Dr. Witherell when he was still in our foster care. As new dog parents we weren't sure to expect and were looking for someone with enough patience to answer all of our questions. Dr. Witherell is fantastic...so much so that we've kept her as our vet even after moving out of South Slope. She understands bulldogs' typical health problems and puts us at ease after every visit.
