My cat and I just moved to the area and she quickly contracted an eye issue. I brought her to this vet and they were fine but left me unhappy. Dr. David diagnosed a corneal ulcer and told me to apply eye ointment 3x a day for a week to my cat. She told me if she starts to paw at her eye to then get a cone for her but she might be unbothered. I was naive and didn't realize it's basically standard to give a cone to the patient if there's anything eye related. I got home and applied the first dose and of course my cat was pawin... read more
What a disappointing visit. After thoroughly researching clinics and vets, I chose Dr Witherell based on reviews and qualifications. While my desk and phone experience was friendly and concise, my first time appointment with the doctor to establish a new vet and address the issues of my senior dog (who is anxious with vets) was rushed and insensitive (not at all 'fear-free') and lacked insight. She told me that she was keeping another patient waiting...?! I was on time; I'd sent records as requested, and clearly detailed in... read more
This review is for the corporate creeps who bought this practice. Since Animal Kind opened, I had taken all of my pets and family and friend's pets there (cats only). I really had no complaints; Dr. Gibson saved one of my cat's lives 3 times, and did his best with other issues. HOWEVER, without any courtesy or warning, the new owners purged me from their rolls because I had a totally healthy cat and didn't bring him in for a "wellness" visit during the worst of the pandemic. When I was able to travel in 2022, they had ca... read more
I'm still in shock over the nearly $800 bill I was presented with after bringing in my cat for a checkup with no surgery or overnight stay. My cat's lethargic behavior that prompted the visit was caused by severe constipation - and I have no issues with the enema performed at the office for which I was charged a very reasonable $56. The $84 dollars for "diagnosis" also seemed to be money well spent, as was the $100-plus charge for "fluids" and medication, and while the $250 charge for two x-rays seemed a bit pricey, I'll g... read more
I have taken my animals--dogs and cats--to Animal Kind for twenty years. A little over a year ago my dog died of an undiagnosed cancer. (I had to wait to write this because I was too emotional.) The spring before he had been coughing and was taken seen be a vet who told us that he had a cold and then pressured us to have his teeth surgically cleaned. Two months later, we panicked by his condition and they said they had no open appointment to see him. We went to another hospital where they told us his condition was grim, conf... read more
Last year, they recommended that we have our cat's teeth cleaned. The vet ordered blood work and a stool sample and told us that we were put on the waiting list. Not only were we never given the results of these tests, but we were also unable to reach any of the vets on multiple occasions throughout the year to schedule the cleaning. We brought our cat back for her annual today and the vet told us that not only were we not put on the waiting list in the first place, but now our cat needs three teeth extracted, perhaps more. ... read more
I am so over these people. I have 2 older dogs dogs seen last year, every year for their annuals. Whenever I call PetCareRx to refill their scripts for I have a problem. They claim the dogs haven't been seen. This is all about money, these vets ar
I love this place and have been going for 20 years. The doctors have always been kind to my pups. But today I just tried to book appointments for my two dogs for checkups and shots, two months in advance because I keep getting emails telling me they're super busy and I have to book early. Then they tell me I have to pay over $150 up front, two months early, to hold the appointments!!! Again, I've been going here for over 20 years with now five dogs and have had many appointments and procedures and have always shown up and p... read more
After 23 years of taking all of my (and other people's pets here), this is no longer a place anyone should trust or patronize. I have a very healthy 10 year old cat who did not need veterinary care during the pandemic. I did not get him his (expensive) wellness check before going to Europe--he was fine. Unfortunately, I had an inexperienced sitter who allowed my cat to hide without using his box for several days, not understanding how dangerous that could be. I called Animal Kind FROM LONDON trying to deal with what migh... read more
