I brought my dog in because he had injured his paw in a scuffle with mean, bigger dogs. The service at Animal Kind was, as always, fabulous. To be able to bring him in within 24 hours of his injury gave me enormous peace of mind. The treatment when we were there was outstanding. Each member of the staff was helpful. What Animal Kind provides is a level of care and caring that one seldom experiences and always hopes for. I am grateful to everyone there.

I live in Manhattan, but we rushed my dog here late Friday night after she became very ill while at my boyfriend's apartment in Brooklyn. She ended up having to stay overnight for two nights, so we had a lot of contact with multiple doctors, vet techs and receptionists. Everybody was extremely friendly, sympathetic, and knowledgable. We were able to visit our dog twice a day during her stay. We were visited personally by a doctor each time we came by, and also received regular phone updates. We have been taking our pets to Animal Kind since we moved to Park Slope in 2009. In 2010 we went to the pound and found Buttons, an American Bob-tail kitten which has become the most precious friend, that I love so much. My wife and I knew his teeth were not that good, and every yearly visit the Vets there would tell us the teeth were getting worse to the point we needed dental cleaning and tooth extraction. Almost three years later and Dr. Morehead is still our vet and I still have nothing but wonderful things to say about him or the staff at Animal Kind. Since writing my original review I have recommended two of my friends to the hospital and they are both just as satisfied as I am. I can't tell you how much it means to have all of my worried dog-parent questions answered and to always be greeted by a staff that loves and respects my Pit Bull. Conclusion: I still love this place :)

WOW is all I can say about this clinic and their vets! i took my pregnant Yorkie there yesterday on 5/30/2013 and they took an X-ray and it showed that she had 7 puppies in there, I was EXCITED to say the least! Then later on that night she went into labor and i started to panic a little because the first one was not alive,So I rushed her back there during their emergency hour which theres a fee for + the cost of service. Couldn't ask my vet a question after going here for over 20 years. Found a different vet who will come to the phone when they can not Animal Kind who told me my vet is not available because they have appointments all day.

Do not go here. They're owned by private equity. They will milk you for every dollar they can and once they diagnose a serious/expensive condition they will make it very difficult for your pet to be treated anywhere else.

2 stars because they haven't actually harmed my pets, and the vet techs seem to really like the animals, BUT... The level of frustration I feel every time I have an interaction at this vet makes me kick myself for not having found a new vet already. The basics- overpriced and impossible to get appointments. Vets inconsistent in treatment plans. Front desk staff is often VERY rude. Oh, and they cancel your appointments if you don't confirm the day before (they send out confirmations 2 hours before closing, so hopefully you ... read more

Nothing I will never go there again. My dog had abnormal blood results and I was not informed until 6 weeks after the blood was drawn. I consider this negligence, when confronted I was told my dog's blood results had "slipped through the cracks."
