We went to Bacchus for our anniversary. The wait staff left us alone for a good amount of time because it was our anniversary. While that was nice, we would have liked to have ordered earlier than we did. The food was excellent and our dessert had a Happy Anniversary message in chocolate.

I was absolutely blown away. We were waited by Robert, and he is an absolute doll. Would and will go back every time I'm in Milwaukee.

The server was very nice; my only quibble is that he was not knowledgeable about wine (odd for a restaurant with such an extensive wine menu) and did not send anyone with wine knowledge to help us choose. Also (and this may not be a server issue), it took a very long time for us to receive each of our courses, which stretched what should have been a 2 hour dinner into a 3 hour dinner. Other than these two things, the food was very good and the restaurant is beautiful. Be sure to ask for a table with a nice view of the lake--... read more

I went to Bacchus after seeing the restaurant on the No Reservations TV show because I wanted to try the Strauss Veal chops. Dinner did not disappoint! Everything was fantastic! The Veal was just as described and the Foie Gras plate was one of the best I have had. Great local cheese and charcuterie selections. I also really appreciated the fact that Bacchus put a more interesting spin on the classic steakhouse formula by offering some creative specials rather than just the standard butchers cart with huge slabs of raw meat. ... read more

It was good to see John again. (waiter) As usual, the service, wine and food were all 1st cabin. A very comfortable place to dine!

The food was very good, not the best steak I ever had but certainly worthwhile. The service however was phenomenal. The staff did an amazing job finding that balance between attentive service and being overbearing. It was rather expensive, the two of us each had a small plate appetizer, a salad, an entree, two drinks, and a desert which came to $150 but for a special occasion, which it was for us, the price seemed reasonable. I will definitely be back and suggest anyone looking for a "special" night out give Bacchus a try.
