I knew even before I got there that the service would be excellent. I had called the restaurant to see if they could push back my reservation, which the accommodated despite being very busy that night. We were there for at least 90 minutes-and never felt as though we were rushed. The food was fantastic! I love the small plates. My parents were visiting from Chicago and, as we left to go home, were saying that they wanted to come back to Bacchus the next time they were in town.

Our Bacchus experience was fantastic! Our server team was very on the ball, never rushing us, and offering excellent menu suggestions. The food was delicious! I had the scallops with caramelized fennel and sweet potato puree. I ate every bite and was reluctant to share! The ambiance is very elegant. An excellent place to dine romantically or with another couple. Three and half hours flew by in no time, and while expensive, well worth the price in my opinion.

My experience at Bacchus ranks among my top five most pleasurable fine dining experiences. The waitstaff were pleasant and attentive without hovering or interrupting, the food was excellent and the ambiance was great. The decor was simple but classy and got out of the way, allowing you to enjoy the meal and your company. The scallops on a bed of sweet potatoes were delicious but it's difficult to say if I'd recommend that over the fillet mignon.

Everything was great--except for the 45-minute wait between the salads and the entrees. The server came by after 35 minutes to apologize for the delay, and we enjoyed dessert at no charge, so the restaurant addressed the wait. But that was a long delay, folks, and so I give them four stars instead of five. It would have been a perfect night otherwise.

This is a conflicted review. Food and location great. Service? Uneven! We arrived 10 minutes early and were basically told to go stand in a corner while we waited. The hostess was not gracious or friendly. She seemed annoyed we were there early: note, simply offer us a drink at the bar and be welcoming and this review does not happen. Our request for a window table was honored, but the heating vent below it kept billowing the table cloth. Our server was great, and made great recommendations. Food was delicious, but it was pl... read more

Moving to the Milwaukee area 10 years ago from the chicago area was great. One concern we had was being able to replace our favorite Fine dining spots in Chicago. We were pleasntly surprised after our first experience at Bacchus. To , it was on par with anything in Chicago that we had come to love. Without a doubt the best Restaurant in the Milwaukee area. We've been there a number of time since and will continue to enjoy in the future!
