Bacchus - as always is fantastic. One of my favorite restaurants in Milwaukee. The food and atmosphere are second to none. Bacchus is always my go-to restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.
The food was excellent, especially the asparagus soup and roasted chicken. The service however, wasn't very good. Our lead waiter wasn't very friendly and aruged with my husband at one point over our ability to use our rewards card. We ordered a bottle of white wine, which was not placed on or near the table. Unfortunately, our empty glasses went unfilled for quite a while. In addition, I ordered a glass of dessert wine and after a substantial wait was told that our waiter was unable to find it. Overall this wasn't one of ou... read more
We've been to all of the Bartolotta restuarants many times and Bacchus never disappoints. The atmosphere is extravagant and romantic and the service was spot on. The food was very good, although not as good as on previous trips. The "Breakfast of Champions" foie gras appetizer is a must-have and we enjoy it every time we dine at Bacchus. The tagliatelle and lobster middle course was our favorite dish of the meal and my short ribs, while a bit small in portion and a little too sweet when eaten with the carrot and pearl onion ... read more
Food was very good, but service was lacking.
We had a lovely dinner at Bacchus on Friday night. The food was outstanding, using only the best ingredients. The service was the best. Just what we needed after a hard week at work. The server had great insignt on paring wines with individual courses.
Great Service...Nice choices...Desserts to die for...Had smaller lobster pasta...thought overpriced for the serving size ...Lobster & steak done perfect Drinks excellent
My husband and I came to celebrate my 30th birthday. The 4 for $40 prix fixe menu was fantastic (I especially enjoyed the WI goat cheese starter) and a great value. The servers are attentive and personable. This is a more formal restaurant, and we felt a bit underdressed. Do make sure to dress up when visiting - no shorts, guys.
The food was very good but pricey. Very few affordable wines on the menu, but one of the "propreitary" blends we selected was reasonable. The one problem we had was with the waitress. We told her that we had theater in 2 hours. We were the first guests to arrive. It took quite a while after we were finished to get our bill (total time for dinner was 1hr 45 min). We arrived at the theater after the curtain had gone up. One other problem was the fairly loud new age jazzy hip hop music. Didn't add to the dining experience.
We were celebrating a wonderful event so found this online and decided to try it. The food and wine were outstanding, but our service was just fair.
