Food was cold, out of the wine we wanted, couldn't make the drink I ordered. Not the usual Bacchus experience. Friday night at 8:30 and no one was there
My first course was lukewarm as was my husbands entree. My entree was over salted to the point I had no desire to eat it. The preparations were just average, not enough innovative flavors for the prices charged. Service was great and management took the entrees off of our bill which was the right thing to do as we didn’t eat much. Too little value on wine - this is our last dinner at Bacchus.
Good food and the service was satisfacory... Unfortunately we were next to a couple who was clearly drunk, they were yelling, crying, making out, and making their personal business very public. Therefore the ambiance was miserable, and my sugestion would be to space the dinning areas out a bit more, my partner and I were sqeezed in between couples less than four feet away which is unnecessary in a place that claims fine dinning, and we didnt dine cheaply either and tipped well... Very disappointed with the bluefin tuna fish I ordered. Tuna tasted fishy-very strongly.
We came for a business dinner following a long meeting. This was a first time for half of our party. Our food was delivered quickly and the server was knowledgeable of the cheeses, and thus sold us on the cheese plate. She did seem a little flustered and confused at other times, however she was kind and helpful. Her Server Assistant was apparently new, or still learning as she did seem very confused and flustered. Portions were small compared to other Bartolotta restaurants, waiter pushed sweet wine tastings after we specifically said no sweet moscato or port wine. Chefs tasting menu was a “secret” but we wish we would have just ordered off of the regular menu. Not worth $400. It was worth half of that. Atmosphere was nice but nothing extraordinary. Wine list was nice, as expected. Drafty, there wasn’t a cozy spot in the restaurant.
Food quality was a bit less than usual. Tuna was a bit fishy. Waiter never once came back to ask how anything was. Had to pour our own wine after the 1st glass. They ran out of NYE party favors just before they got to us. A bit disappointing since we took friends there for the 1st time. Not sure our friends will be back but we might.
I have had Bacchus on my list for a long time, and was eager to try after attending the Ballet earlier. We ended up arriving at the really cool location and very nice interior design. We were sat next to a large table that was noisy and very rude (guys high fiving for the lady talent in the room). When we sat down we started with a 1/2 bottle of wine and perused though the menu and decided to go with a local cheese and crackers and a couple of appetizers. Usually amazing but not this time. Service was terrible and drinks were weak. Food was delicious.
