You need to keep the music down. It doesn't work so well in an elegant restaurant.
The pasta was cold and contained little of the lobster supposed to be in it. My lamb loin, although delicious and well presented consisted of two slices of the lamb. Would it have ruined the budget to serve three pieces of meat in an entree? Both of us left hungry. And felt that for $125 should have have some value to the meal besides the ambiance.
It must have been an off night for Bacchus as we have dined there before and have not been as disappointed as we were with this visit. While it was Valentines weekend, it was not overly crowded so we expected the best as we have been accustomed too with our previous visits. At the Bar we were seated for approx 5 minutes before we were asked what we would like. Great Martinis, but had to ask for water twice. Dining…. Promptly seated for our reservation and the waite staff was great. We ordered the Valentines special price fix... read more
Although the food was tasty and the waitstaff polite, the portions were inadequate. You should feel satisfied when you leave a restaurant of such class.
I split the porterhouse and the steak and the sides were barely warm. The service was great when we got there but it got busier and the restaurant did not plan accordingly. Service went down hill after that. Bacchus is one of my favorite restaurants and I was very disapponted in our dinner.
Service seems to have declined a bit over last 12 months, not as attentive or on top of things as they use to be. Food is still excellent, one of best in the city.
To whom it may concern: Last Wednesday, I treated a friend to a birthday dinner at Bacchus restaurant. I chose that location for its sterling reputation for food, service, and ambiance. Unfortunately, Bacchus fell far short of being a great restaurant during our visit. The problems began immediately after being seated. It took over five minutes before we were served water or greeted by a waiter. After appetizers were delivered and consumed, we realized that napkins were not present on the table (or any other table, for that ... read more
Don't expect large portions, but the filet was pretty good. The staff did act rushed.
We had looked forward to this as a special treat in our visit to Milwaukee. The Maitre de was very dismissive when seating us but our waiters were very nice. Unfortunately, the service was less than we expected - had to ask for bread we noticed others were served immediately, waiter came back to table very intermittently and never asked how our food was, drink service was slow, we were not asked about coffee with dessert. We spent a great deal of money on very small portions and will not return to this restaurant.
