By far the best veterinary hospital I have ever been to. Their exotics expert (Dr. Cheros) time and time again gives me the best advice and care for my leopard geckos and is very friendly, a pleasure to interact with. The same can be said about all the assistant and staff at this clinic: A+. I travel almost 2 hours to come to this place and it is worth it every time. -D

I have been a client here and their Great Neck office for over 10 years. I now have 2 bulldogs... and I now understand why they are called a 'veterinarian's dream dog' - these guys need constant maintence! but through Dr. Charos' guidence, I now understand how a decent diet and regular check-ups can greatly improve our situation. In fact, keeping up with them as I would my own health - what Dr. Defeis calls 'wellness'. We have avoided major problems as I've had with previous dogs... My mother goes nuts when she sees wh... read more

Excellent care. Dr. Charos saved the life of our class pet Miracle (Bearded Dragon). He was at death's door and Dr. Charos knew just what to do to bring him back from severe metabolic bone disease and failure to thrive. His guidance and the daily updates by the staff during the treatment was a calming factor that helped the students of JHS 157 cope with the situation. The staff @ Bayside Animal Clinic is always friendly and knowledgeable. We were very lucky to have ended up at Bayside Animal Clinic.

I just got my new puppy on 12/28/12. W came here because this was one of the clinics the breeder suggested. We are glad we did. Everyone was so nice. Being my first ever puppy, I have had grown dogs, I was nervous if I was doing things right. I was reassured and given some pointers. My little man had kennel cough and i am happy to say he is doing better. Sabre says thank you, and me too!

I came here to get my sweet cat declawed. Knowing that he is an older cat I knew it would cost a little more then normal. They were amazing from the start, a little thrown off with the price but it was worth every penny. They broke down what everything cost and when I said I thought it would be cheaper and wasnt prepared for that price they really tried to get rid of any extra procedures that didn't need to be done. Most places would just charge and not care. Also, It's hard to find genuinely nice people in the NYC area and ... read more

I have had animals all my life and have spent many a day at "The Vet's". At one point - oh say around 1994 - we found a stray (my baby beagle) we named Pookie. This was my first visit to Bayside Animal Clinic and we haven't been anywhere else since!!! We started out by seeing Dr. DeFeis. This man is fantastic!! He's an excellent vet and he was the only doc we would see (there are quite a few). Pookie needed medical attention every few months, and Dr. DeFeis took EXCELLENT care of us (they ultimately saved my Pookie's ... read more

I'm definitely a crazy cat lady! I take care of all the stray cats in my neighborhood (yes, my neighbors hate me). One adorable cat in particular stole my heart and her name is Ms. Abby (say it with a southern accent). I took her in about 6 months ago and just last week she fell ill. I didnt know what to do, so I called Bayside Animal Clinic and they told me to come in right away. The receptionist is the nicest girl ever!! She's so professional and sweet. The vet was also great, he was really honest and I could tell he g... read more

My little boy dog suffers from major allegies, from wheat & corn to feathers & cotton and everything in between. When I first noticed the red spots on his skin, I immediately took him to Queens Midway where they really didn't do anything for him... Baby Boy just got worse and worse until the spots started getting infected. I took him to Dr. Ottenbreit and Dr. Charos at Bayside Animal Clinic and they immediately went to work on him, after having the allergy tests done, changed his food and shampoo, I have a happy non-itchy ... read more

Been using the Bayside Animal Clinic for about two years now and have been very happy with all the vets as well as the staff. The office staff is very efficient , knowlegable and very friendly.I used another vet for a while but they never had hours that fit anyone's schedule. The Bayside Animal Clinic is part of a larger group so if they don't have hours one of the other offices are open- some 24 hrs in case of emergency. I have also recommended them to friends.
