Well, I've been going to another Vet in the area for 20yrs. Long story short, I lost confidence in them after changing ownership and I was confronted with looking for a new Vet. I have two cats and Bayview was recommended to me by several of my friends. One of my cats is a Bengal and the other black rescue. They are both members of our family so their care is of vital importance. ALL of the doctors here are wonderful, my two favorites being Dr. Brunz and Dr. Nelson. They provide detailed, compassionate care and treat you as if you are family. They are also very accommodating if you need to bring your pet in for appointments at short notice. This review is to help you make a better decision when seeking treatment for your pet. The staff here is great and Dr. Nelson, the vet I usually see, is the best. I brought my dog in because she was urinating in the house and I wanted to make sure she didn't have an infection. The available vet needed a urine sample and told me they would collect the urine by sticking a small needle in my dog's bladder. Bayview Animal Clinic was recommended to me through a friend and I couldn't be more grateful to have found this little gem. For the past 3 months my kitty has been struggling with urinary issues and was at deaths door the day I brought him in. I couldn't have asked for more from Dr. Nelson and his staff. This Clinic is absolutely amazing. I have never been to an animal clinic that has shown so much devotion and dedication into their practice. Walking into the clinic you are greeted by an amazing staff that are warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. When I first got my puppy about a year ago he had major bladder stone problems. Every week it seemed I had to bring him into Bayview Animal hospital because he couldn't urinate. They were very accommodating anytime I needed to bring him in...which was weekly and urgently. Even if I needed to bring him in before work, they would gladly watch him all day because I was not able to come pick him up. Dr. Carew and the staff at Bayview are amazing! I've been taking my 8 1/2 year old English Bulldog to Dr. Carew since she was a puppy. Usually I don't have many issues with her, we come in for the routine vaccinations, heart worm, etc. but this weekend Zoe had a SEVERE allergic reaction to something that ended up causing a hot spot and got infected. Bayview is an awesome hospital with great frontline staff. They are always courteous over the phone and work hard to get you in and out. Probably the best thing about the hospital however is the talent.. Dr. Carew is the best vet in Broward co. Not only is he very knowledgable and spot on, he actually cares about the well being of the animal and you as the owner. He makes himself available and has done so for years. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
I have been taking my pets to Bayview Animal Clinic for over 17 years. As a long time Ft. Lauderdale resident and pet owner, I have also been to several other veterinary clinics in the area. However, no other place begins to compare to Bayview. The entire staff is kind, caring, and welcoming from the minute everyone walks through the door.
