Very disappointed. Followed my first vet here 13 years ago. Was treated terribly today. Long story short- they are horrible communicators. In all honesty I did not react well to the situation but after being late by 20 minutes for the appointment, they wasted another 25 minutes of our time giving me the run around. This is the face of corporate veterinary medicine now. Every vet who retires ends up selling their practice to one of the ever-increasing veterinary corporations because they offer the most money. If you look this practice up online, their website states that they are privately owned. You are being lied to before you set foot in the door. Front office staff is very unfriendly and indifferent. Have never encountered this at other vet practices. Vet did annual exam in a back room without me present. Came into the exam room adjacent to the lobby to talk to me for just a minute while typing notes into the computer. Spent maybe 3 minutes and seemed rushed. Very high prices to boot. Will be looking for a new practice.
Horrible MANAGEMENT and HORRIBLE PRICES. Beware of them -- they will give you someone else's bill with their information and vice versa and then you end up paying for it and then they'll make you pay for the correct bill! I know because they did it to me. I have a better veterinarian now whose competent!
I loved this vet. I have been going here for 40 years. They fired the vet that started the practice and everyone else has left. The last time I went the vet didn't even want to come into the exam room - they wanted my dog to go back to her -- seriously? Dr. Schutt is an amazing surgeon and they let him go --I have a dog business and have referred many many many clients there. No more. In search of a vet that cares. Find someplace else to go.
My dogs have been patients at Belle Haven Animal Centre for more than a decade. I called today with an emergent care issue (my 2 year old lab has had diarrhea for two weeks, and her stool today was essentially mucous) and was told that there was no appointment until October 31, nearly two weeks from today. Perhaps this unreasonable delay is due to a shortage in vets, but we never had this problem in the past. Very rude! I called to ask about euthanization, and the lady quickly said she was not taking anyone new on without me saying another word. My 19-year-old cat can't walk and will not eat! Well, I guess this is a easy I will never use them!
Different types of vets work for different types of people. But since this practice was sold to a large corporation the approach is very insensitive to loyal customers. I personally over the 20 years going to the center, referred many neighbors and friends, but would not do that now. they have lost their senior staff and charge hirer than other vets in area, and it takes 3 or 4 weeks to get appointments and if dog needs anything immediate they send to emergency clinics which resent vets using them for patients they should... read more
THEY DO NOT CARE IF YOUR PET DIES: Two weeks after moving to Alexandria from the Midwest, our dog became suddenly very ill after midnight and was too ill to walk. Because we had just moved to the area, we did not have a veterinarian. I called Belle Haven and told them that we were new to the area, that our dog became sick after midnight, and that I was afraid he may die.
