Nice restaurant...not really a diner. Cocktail was well made. Food was very fresh and good. Had the homemade chicken soup which was really good and the salad with avocado. The cheesecake was wonderful!
Food quality varies with the menu item. Chicken pot pie and noodle kugel were delicious. Pastrami sandwich was lacking. Decor is a little tired. But everyone knows how to get you fed and out to your show on time.
The Brooklyn Diner is a great theater district choice. It's walking distance from many theaters and offers efficient ,but not rushed , service. The menu is varied and truly has something for everyone. The noise level in the front is quite loud and so asking for a table in the rear is a good idea.
Very good food and busy
My husband and I closed out our NYC trip here. Good scene, great feel. The French is amazing!
The menu promised that the Matzot Ball Soup would be as good as my grandmother's. It wasn't, but, then again, no-one could possibly meet that standard of excellence! That said, the soup was nearly as good as Grandma's, and my hot pastrami sandwich was pretty good, too! For me, two things made the Brooklyn Diner special. Good, dependable food and convenient to Broadway theaters. Young, energetic helpful wait staff.
Food was excellent. Service was very good in a great atmosphere.
Fun place in the heart of Times Square. Typical American menu. Chicken pot pie wonderful but crazy HUGE, easily feeds two. Enjoyed sitting in a booth by the window where we could see Times Square.
