I am a big fan of Shelly Fireman's other restaurants including Trattoria Del Arte; Red Eye Grill; Bond 45; Café Fiorello but I had never tried Brooklyn DIner. I was meeting a business colleague in Times Square so I thought , lets give Brooklyn Diner a try. Turned out it was a great choice. The thing about Shelly FIreman's restaurants and why they are so successful is that he himself understands native New Yorker's tastes and knows how to create an experience of New York fusion cuisine that incorporates all the foods New York... read more

The Brooklyn Diner was the perfect choice for our last trip to the city, an early theatre outing for which we wanted a variety of choices served in a non-fussy environment. There were six of us, including a curious child and we felt very comfortable there. The food was excellent and there were a great number of choices. The theme of an upscale version of a neighborhood diner was right on point. It offered new spins on standard diner fare. The portions were more than generous. I have only two slightly negative comments. First... read more

Great breakfast! The pastrami hash and eggs is amazingly good. A little pricey, but it's NYC.

Overall, I suggest ordering typical diner fare. Not a great option for GF intolerance and celiac. The service was fantastic. I ordered Cuban chicken and my daughter had the burger on GF bread. This is a diner, so my expectations for GF food was low. The server was very helpful trying to find options. They had GF bread but no GF buns for the hamburger. We ordered it with GF bread, and it fell apart under the hamburger. I saw the diner advertised as having GF buns but they didn't. I ordered the chicken after the waiter recomme... read more

Dinner here after a nearby Sunday matinee. Perfect, reasonably priced, good food. We all just had Pastrami and/or Ruebens. BUT, they were all very good, service was excellent. No complaints. Easy, simple. Would come back for sure.

The Brooklyn Diner is well worth the trip. Perfect for tourists. We had breakfast there. The offerings are extensive & we found it difficult to choose. We had the Tony Bennett French toast & 3 cheese omelette. They were delicious, served piping hot & each like a work of art on our plates. Our server, Joel, was attentive & personable. We'll go back the next time we're in NYC.

High quality diner food in a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly servers, attentive but never felt rushed. Enjoyed the "perfect plate" and veggie burger.
