This "authentic" Brooklyn diner was a little disappointing. The food was OK, the prices were high (although it is Times Square $16 for a glass of wine is too much). The service was good; they were very accommodating to my two grandkids and everything was promptly served and cleared, but not hurried. The pastrami was so so. It's a good place for a burger and mac and cheese which everyone liked.
Went there for pre-theater dinner on Saturday night, with a reservation. We were seated immediately and service was reasonably good for the most part, although waiter forgot to bring specific items we requested, and repeatedly called us "guys", which I hate. The place was very crowded and noisy. Unless you are lucky enough to get a booth, the tables are crammed together and you cannot avoid overhearing conversations and phone calls of diners at adjoining tables. Food quality was average. Fabulous split peas soup with hot dog slices. Delicious and huge chicken pot pie, to be eaten by two or three. Don't miss the noodle kugle; it's fantastic and authentic.
I absolutely love The Brooklyn Diner. I eat there every time I come to the city. The food is always excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great service all around.
Best fish burger in the world says my beautiful fiancée
As a tourist, to call this a diner is not quite correct. This is more upscale than a typical diner and a good place to bring the family for a good variety of food for all tastes. Would recommend this as a great place and location to spend the afternoon. I ate Thanksgiving turkey dinner here, very good, but next time I want to try the Chicken pie - don't eat anything before!
Waitress slow to fulfill requests. Table missing aslt and pepper. Food slow to come, although very busy.
Food was good! But Waitress was never around! Brought check when we got our entree. We had to tell her we needed coffee and cheesecake! Our servers have always been excellent ! at breakfast, dinners or even late night! Excellent breakfasts: love the mixed marriage and the Huevos! Even the "tony Bennett" french toast! Delish! The Reuben, the Salmon and the pot roast are yummy! Save room for the strawberry cheesecake served with chocolate sauce! killer !
The food was very good and the service was ok. They penalized us for having a reservation on open table. We arrived 25 minutes early and they wouldn't seat us until our reservation time but continued to seat anyone that came in without a reservation which was about 12 tables. Then after I complained, we were seated about 5 minutes after our reservation time. I would recommend just walk in and say no reservation but make one just in case its busy.
