We had only been to the BD uptown and for breakfast at that. The menu is simple and straightforward. I had an unburger, cooked the way I requested and my husband a burger also properly cooked. Our waiter was attentive, but the busser who placed the plate was borderline rude... Diner style ambiance... get a booth!!!!! The tables for two on the banquette were impossibly close together and would have been uncomfortable. Noise level was ok.... A positive experience in the theater district... not cheap, but what is?
Great place - wish there was one in South Florida.
To my knowledge, this is one of the few restaurants suitable for a business breakfast in the nearby Times Square area. If I can find another, I will quickly switch allegiance. The ambience is fun, and out-of-towners enjoy the menu and ginormous servings. But service is spotty, the noise level is uncomfortable, and many aspects of the presentation don't make sense. Brooklyn Diner in Times Square is centrally located and offers a varied menu suitable for all ages and perfect for a quick pre or post theatre dining outing
Everything is served in big portions so try to share. Not a cheap place to eat but the food is good, something for everyone.
If you're hungry - this is the place for you! Try their pizza, chicken asian salad or even wings - all are outstanding! You'll leave with a smile!
Good food, gigantic portions. Very noisy on the day I dined, but having had a reservation was great. They held a very nice table for us on a Wednesday lunchtime when they're bombarded with patrons rushing in for a pre-theatre lunch. Would go there again. Lollipop on the way out was a nice treat!
It was a'ight..I had the best rueben here during the week and $2 cheaper. I understand raising prices for the weekend tourist crowd but lowering your food standard as well, boo to you. My friend had the wrong side come with her meal and it took almost the entire lunch to get her correct side of soup. I have eaten here multiple times without complaint but always on a weekday. I probably would not come back on a weekend.
I went with my young son and his friend and the boys LOVED it! The food was perfect, (delicious and plenty of choices for both them & myself!) and the diner decor is so cute, they especially looked looking out onto times Square while they ate. Will be back!!
