We visited (43rd St. location) last Sunday for breakfast and our meals were awful. Very disappointing. I had a nutella waffle and it was so dry it flaked apart when I cut it. It was also small (2 squares) considering it was $18. My daughter had a single plain pancake that was tasteless and her friend had plain waffle (she's quite picky) and they charged $16 for 2 squares of dry tasteless waffle. My friend had eggs and sausage and she said it was just ok. I might as well have flushed $120 down the toilet. We had visited the 5... read more

The entire service staff was so busy gossiping that they were not providing service to the very few people that were dining. The manager tried to apologize and say that he guess they were distracted because they were so slow, but he was part of the problem because he was over there talking with them. he offered to buy us dessert, but at that point, we just wanted to get out of there.

We were both diappointed with our food. My poached eggs were overcooked and hard. My guest didn't even get the omelette she ordered. We didn't that the time to send it back so didn't say anything. Then while we were waiting to get our check the waiter was chatting with people at another table for ten minutes.

It’s a Times Square eatery with not very great options for food. Food took a long time, service was almost aggressive/rushed. People didn’t seem to even know what they had as far as dressings etc. food tasted bland. If you’re ok with needing to add a lot of salt and limited sauce/dressing options and you have time (it took an hour to get our food, we had a reservation). Then go check it out, otherwise there are plenty of better options in and around Times Square for a meal.
Breakfast for two. #1 pancakes- before this, I didn’t believe that it was possible to spoil pancakes — but somehow they managed. Only could force down about 1/3 of one pancake (didn’t touch the other. It was oily, overcooked & tasteless! #2 “Perfect”Brioche French Toast: “Perfect” - NOT!!!! (only marginally better than the pancakes) The only reason I gave it any stars for the food or value: The berries & whipped cream were fresh & good tasting. The coffee was fine. Will NEVER eat there again!!!
Food was good but felt rushed out by the waitress. Person collecting out glasses too at the end nearly knocked my partner over just to collect the glasses. My plate still had food on it when the waitress tried to take it, then took it about 0.25 seconds after I finished. Nice food, poor service just rushing us out when there was hardly anybody even in the restaurant
They did not have French toast! Waiter said, they haven't had it in 3 months! Yet it's on the menu??? Pancake, omlette was ok, bagel luke warm, all in all NOT a Brooklyn Diner! Will not return.
The Brooklyn diner is not a place you should go for breakfast. The menu is limited, the prices are exorbitant , and the food was quite bad. First they did not have any regular tea. They were out of every tea except Earl Grey and some green teas. Two of us had scrambled eggs and they were seriously over cooked with more brown than yellow. We ordered a toasted blueberry muffin and it came toasted but cold. While the pancakes were okay, the “ Vermont maple syrup”was watered down. Last point: this is not a diner but instead a re... read more
Food ridiculously overpriced for quality which was okay but certainly not special. I assume that's why their empty tables for breakfast on a school holiday. Staff was attentive and friendly
