Took 1 hour to get a cold steak. Would not recommend at all
Waited 20 minutes. Waiter was ok. Food was just ok and very expensive for just ok. Will not be returning here on our next trip to NY city too many other great places.
Receptionist was lovely. Diner was very busy and extremely loud even though we did have a nice table in the back. Was never quite sure who our server was as we had several. Kitchen had to be terribly busy as once we gave our order we had to wait over 30 minutes for eggs.
Been here many times and by far the worst service. Arrived on time for my reservation. Restaurant was about 1/3 full as the pre-theater rush was about to begin. Took a few mins to be greeted and when I was it was by a surly server. Escorted me to a horrible table at the peak of the traffic for servers and anyone who wants to go to the bathroom. It was closed due to an emergency in the kitchen...had to go somewhere else.
There is a reason native New Yorker's do not often go to restaurants in Times Square. This was loud, over-priced, food was below average and worse still, were the numerous little flying bugs around the table and our meal.
It was a Tuesday night and it took 30 minutes for the waiter to come to our table which started off our evening not so good. The restaurant was not even busy. However, the food turned out to be really good and we were able to make it to our play on time.
They stop serving pancakes and french toast at 11:30am! Not much of a brunch without those staples at noon if you ask me. Diner in name only.
I've been to the Brooklyn Diner several times before and brought my daughter here for her 16th birthday. It was a disappointing experience. The waitress was pleasant but inattentive. She brought my coffee fairly quickly but took so long to bring my daughter's hot chocolate we decided she must've forgotten about it. My daughter ordered an omelette with cheese and sausage and when the runner brought the plates, we thought it was someone else's meal because the sausage was on the side.
