We were here in April 2016 and had a fantastic experience. We were disappointed this time. Food was very good but service was terrible. My husband asked three times for cream for his coffee before a nearby diner shared his with us. It took three requests to three different servers to get water which finally came at the end of the meal from a busboy. Waiter was rude and inattentive. Not what you'd expect when you're paying $25 for a breakfast plate.
Not the place to go if you're looking for a good pastrami sandwich. Definitely not worth the $$. Turkey Rueben was tasty but not great.
I used to like it in here...but the last couple of times I've been in...there was a real drop in standards. The meet and greet girl seemed bashful and inattentive and although the waitress said all the right things - her service was extremely slow, disorganised, shoddy, and error prone. I won't be back - which is a shame.
Food was ok, however the cost was ridiculous. A milk shake and burger cost $30 plus tax plus tip. Service was great, our waiter was great. Will not be returning. #ripoff
I've been going to the Brooklyn Diner on 57th St for over 20 years and decided to give this one a whirl. The service was absolutely terrible - I had to get up three times during my meal (to ask - again - for water, help myself to a napkin and silverware from the server station and take my credit card up to the bar to pay my tab). And my favorite pot roast entree was over 50% fat when I had asked for a lean cut. Only thing they still have going for them is the noodle kugel.
I ordered the cheeseburger. I asked for an open burger with just the bottom slice of GF bread. It came with both. Ok. The meat was well cooked BUT totally tasteless. No salt nor condiments. The cheese was some sort of colored produce, but definitely not cheese. We saw the server only twice. It was a slow day so we didn't understand. Half of the restaurant was empty. Never again.
For the second time they said they didn't have my open table reservation...( it never happened anyplace before..) The mature d
Horribly overpriced food with no flavor staff were friendly and that's where it ended the Brooklyn diner "famous" dishes were lacking and the Ruben was mediocre at best
We got sat on time but it took 45 minutes to get our meal. It took about 15 minutes before anyone even came over to acknowledge us and take order. We then waited 30-45 minutes to get our lunch: 1 salmon salad, 1 burger that came out well done but was suppose to be medium-rare and 1 veggie burger. Too high prices for waiting that long and just eh food. Other than location, not worth it .
