Food was disappointing and service was also poor. I was very surprised.
The menu choices were limited and over-priced. The service was very slow. The restaurant was noisy. There was no bread placed on the table while we were waiting. I ordered a salad. The food was tasty, but not a large portion. The chicken on the salad was dry and bland. My friend ordered mac and cheese with pastrami. There were 2 strips of pastrami spread on top of mac and cheese. The restaurant is located in Times Square and I think it attracts tourists. I felt the price was high for what I received. I would not recommend th... read more
We paid $53 (without tip) for 6 pancakes, 6 slices of bacon, one ice tea and one coffee. I was excited about eating at the diner but it was half full and we waited a very long time for our meals and when I put my fork in the top pancake, it wasn't cooked. I can't tell you how disappointed I was because the server was terrific, the booth cozy, the mood perfect....but after breakfast and my $53 bill, I was ready to come home to my Bob Evans for great pancakes and bacon for $8 a plate.
We arrived at 11:30 and found the place surprisingly empty for pre-matinee Saturday. No waiter for 10 minutes....but, we thought, no worries. We knew what we wanted. We put our order in...and despite flagging him down twice, then another waiter, then a manager...didn't get our burger and hot dog until 12:35. No apologies or considerations offered. We won't be back.
For a restaurant called the Brooklyn Diner, the menu had few choices and none of the best diner foods. How does that happen? The food ordered was quite good, well prepared and tasty. But the breakfast foods, sandwiches, desserts you may expect at a diner are not to be found. Service was also rather slow.
Average food, ok service, the most overpriced breakfast I've EVER had. We ate at Becco the night before and it was incredible. Believe it or not, the price for eggs & French toast was almost as much as we paid for a high-end dinner feast.
Overpriced, the food was terrible....I grew up in Brooklyn and the menu had nothing to do with authentic Brooklyn diner food. Just terrible. Even e Pastrami was tough and chewy...at least get that right. A tourist rip-off!
Overpriced..French fries were soggy and not crispy or hot Construching noise from outside kept my table vibrating Other parts of the restaurant were unaffected point being they should avoid using those tables until the work is completed The menu offers burgers with slabs of bacon or pastrami.no plain burger offered.....priced out
The food at the diner was edible but not very good. The portions were small and the prices were high. We are use to going to diners where the portions are larger and the prices more reasonable.
