After the first PG&E power shut-off, I contacted Brower Mechanical because of their radio show and advertising on KFBK. 2 years into a 3 year service plan, and they never do the job they come out to do...every time they come I have to have them back to fix problems that weren't there before the visit. I'm cutting my losses on the plan and not having them back.

My disappointment was their lack of transparency in giving me a repair quote that would break down the cost of the parts and labor for the work. Mike and his associate came to the house and within less than 10 minutes said that there was something wrong with the blower or the bearing of the 3 year old mini split AC unit installed in my family room. We had our home comfort system replaced by Brower 10/2013, including having new duct work, installation and venting installed in our attic. The energy audit was fantastic and gave us a thorough understanding of our energy needs. The installation process was great, and it seemed like our $20k investment was indeed a smart one to make with Brower. Buyer be ware. I will never use Brower Mechanical again for any of their services. They cannot be trusted. They will rip you off and charge excessively for parts and labor on a heating air conditioning unit repair. I bought two HVAC systems and have regularly called them for repairs. The last few times I thought the charge was excessive. Recently, they would not even give me a breakdown of estimated labor and parts. We signed up for a Home Performance Program through SMUD and selected these guys as our contractor, based on a referral from someone at my wife's work. I wish that I could happily recommend this contractor also, BUT Brower Mechanical has earned two thumbs down from me at this point. Be careful when dealing with Brower. I attempted to schedule AC maintenance on my two condensers. Roseville has a $75.00 rebate for AC maintenance available. The normal price quoted to service these two units by Brower was $186, so my out of pocket after the two rebates should have been $36.00. However, since there is a rebate available, they wanted me to pay over $200 for the service -- they up-charged their service simply because of the rebate!!! This REALLY seems unscrupulous to me.
I purchased home in Granite Bay about a year ago and it had a fairly new high-end Lennox HVAC system. I recently contacted Brower Mechanical to have a service/tune-up on it. The receptionist was polite and explained that the combo price to have both AC/Heater serviced was $187. I had to wait almost a month for my appointment. Had furnace/ac installed 8/12. Another contractor offered a inspection review of our system which they did. They discovered a duct completely disconnected and the set up of the ac was not done correctly. After a number of.
