Our suite was very nicely decorated and very cozy. Staff was friendly. Location is great. Room was a little noisy probably due to age of the place but not a big deal. All is all, would certainly return.

Charming and quirky hotel. Excellent friendly and helpful owners. Short walk to the town. Free breakfast buffet makes an easy start tothe day

This was a very nice hotel. Considering the cost of other hotels this close to the beach and shopping areas, I was expecting to have to give up a lot for the prices they had (and just hoping that cleanliness would not be an issue). We really enjoyed this place!Great location, nice staff. Nice views from the hotel shared second floor balcony. Good Continental breakfast! Very nice plants and fountains all around the property!
BUT, this was all wonderful until we climbed er sat on the bed. We had the corner unit, top floor, overlooking the pool. The wicker bed-frame squeaked any and every time you moved, or even thought about moving.:).

Exceeded my expectations
I have been to Carmel many times, but this was my first time staying in this hotel. For the price, it was terrific. (less than $100/night for weekend nights). The location, right on the edge of downtown, and walking distance to many great restaurants, was probably the best aspect of my stay. Great location; close to shops. Small rooms, up-to-date amenities. For breakfast only coffee, juice or milk, and oatmeal, bagels or rolls.
Needs updating
Location: Any street close to Ocean Avenue for downtown shopping. Going to the beach would pretty much be the same. The town is small; everything isclose in proximity.
Location was fantastic; we could walk everywhere in downtown Carmel from the inn. However, the inn itself needs updating and some repair. The wallpaper was pealing off the bathroom walls. The electrical sockets were the old 2-prong type, hence we had to have an adapter to plug in our laptop. It just needs to be refurbished.
