I will never shop here again. Went in to get some new boots for my birthday. I tried on a lot of pairs, and found the ones I liked. First problem, there was a cut in the upper on the back of the left boot. No problem, the salesman said, he'd have a pair sent up from San Marcos. Okay, I said, and paid for the boots. I waited a week (from San Marcos to Austin, mind you) and they finally called. I go there to try them on and pick them up. The boot I pull out? The torn one I tried on the week before. Are you kidding m... read more
This place must really be hit or miss with the customer service. Either you love it or you hate it. I HATED it. I went one night to find my daughter a pair of boots as a Christmas gift from her grandmother. We found a super cute pair and had them put on hold. Literally 24 hours later we went back to purchase the boots and had a similar experience as a lot of people here. I walked in and all of the sales people were standing around flirting and chatting and not doing their job. Someone finally asked if they could help me and ... read more
Nice store, but the sales people lacked that Texas niceness we all are used to, kind if uninviting.
Rude employees I ordered some boots, when I picked them up they didn't even give me a bag and they weren't in the original box. Sucked I felt unwelcomed
i never shopped for here but i almost did. There was a pink GSP shirt i really wanted and i already have the same exact affliction shirt in black. No website had the shirt in pink in a small and when i googled it this one did. After looking at the shirt for a few minute i noticed two letters were cut off that arent cut off on my shirt or any of the other pink gsp shirts i looked at and i know people do buy fake affliction but cmon its really expensive so they shouldnt be passing it off as the real thing and selling it for t... read more
I am somewhat saddened to be leaving a 2 star review, because this used to be the go-to source for my boyfriend's jeans. He really liked the cut of the Wranglers as opposed to shopping around some store in the mall and I really liked the convenience of Cavendar's location. I've always gotten the same cut/style/color of pants- usually 2 pairs, twice a year and have never had any real problems until recently. So I walk in and find the jeans section and notice that the particular cut of jean I'm looking for is missing. Think... read more
My husband & I went to Cavender's to buy some cowboy hats to take with us to Hawaii (where he's stationed). Neither one of us had ever bought a cowboy hat so we had no idea what size and the employees were not helpful AT ALL. In fact, not only did they completely ignore us, but they were actually giving us dirty looks. Maybe they were upset that we were trying on hats (I don't know if there's an unspoken cowboy hat-trying etiquette) but if they didn't want us trying them on, maybe they should have helped us by measuring our ... read more
I went here today and they are having a "tent" sale but, beware. Prices are not very discounted. Also, I picked out a belt that clearly had a sign above it saying price marked is 25-50% off plus take an extra 20% off. The price marked was less than 25% off and when they got a manager to come look he said oh these belts should not have been put out here and the price tag on the belt was wrong as well and they were not discounted at all plus no extra 20% off they were full ticket price and no discount was offered plus no apolo... read more
Two years ago I came to Austin to visit my step daughter. I used to work the oil patch back in the 80's and wanted to return to an area where I am fond of and had many pleasant memories, and I wanted a pair of boots for me, and a pair for her. I bought a pair at Allen's and love them and their service. While at Boot City - looking for her boots, the rather large western looking guy (clerk) in a big cowboy hat asked me where we were from, I told him West Virginia and Virginia. He made a terribly rude comment about where I wa... read more
