I took my son to Cavender's in south Austin last week. I was surprised at how many customers and staff members there were. I had not been in that store before and was overwhelmed with how large it was. Very impressive if you're needing anything with a western flair. We found the jeans for my son that he was hoping for that we couldn't find anywhere else. The price was acceptable but the service was wonderful! I was visiting Austin and had looked all over for steel toe slip on boots for women but hadn't had any luck. My last stop before heading to the airport was Cavenders. Everyone was so friendly and when they didn't have my size in the Twisted X steel toe women's slip on boot they offered to ship them from another store to my home in Illinois. I received them today and couldn't be happier. Great service, comfy work boots...I'm one happy lady!
Had several items but I felt they were overpriced. Not a huge variety and they wanted on average $40 for a t-shirt that didbt have anything special about it.
I got my first pair of cowboy boots at an affordable price. Tracy the sales rep was the nicest person ever and very helpful! The girl at the register was not the most enthusiast person at all. At least pretend to care a tab bit. Can't wait to wear them back in ny!!
Okay... the level of simultaneous attentive service from all of their 10,000 store attendants can be... overwhelming. At least they're all smiles, all knowledgeable and all helpful but holy geebus it may as well have gone black & white like Pleasantville when I walked in. Anyway - good service, folks. Stellar customer service! Ask for Chelsea to help you find the perfect boot with the perfect fit for you. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The prices are competitive and the selection is nice. I love my new pair of Old Gringos! I will come back the next time I'm in town.
Today was boot day. I own many pairs of boots. I know boots. In Texas, that is not difficult! I also now know where to shop and where not to shop. This is a "not to shop"! Their selection is mediocre. I'd would have given them 1 star BUT I was approached by a very nice associate and offered help (that did not happen at a competitor!) I applaud them for at least having adequate help. I've shopped there for years and will continue to do so, just not for boots.
Turn up Urge Overkill's version of "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon", swap out the lyric 'woman' for 'Texan', and now you know exactly what inspired my visit to Cavender's Boot City. Since moving to Texas I've become a long-term fan of Cavendars, where you'll find literally hundreds of boot options, in all toes shapes and colors. And as it turns out, wearing boots can be quite addictive. Now in my collection is a lipstick red Lucchese, a traditional western black Tony Lamas, a copper bling-studded Frye, and my latest acquisition, a fabulous brown classic Ariat.
