After several weeks, four service calls, three different technicians, over $1000 spent and another $2000+ quote, I had two other companies look at my AC unit. Both companies said the safety switches were incorrectly wired (by Climate Control). An easy $275 fix and finally working just fine.
The install of AC and new furnace was good save the location of a venting pipe. Called them up and they did a better job of locating it. Overall, I'm satisfied with the install and would give them 4 stars. They sold me a service plan for $280/yr which consisted of 2 service calls per year, cleaning, adjustments and make sure everything was working OK. The visits consisted of a service tech looking at everything for what couldn't have been 15 minutes. No cleaning, no report, no nothing. I called them to let them know m... read more
After 12 years and many thousands of dollars, I'm done. Charged me $550 for 15 minutes to change out a capacitor that Home Depot sells for less than $10. I called and they said someone would contact. Did that happen? NO! I would have been happy at a $250 or so for finding the problem. But $550? Really.
Had Carrier furnace installed in 2002; the system failed several times and a new board and flow motor was replaced by the company in 2009. Continued failure (no heat) several times with 2 replacement of condensate pumps in the mean time until the furnace stopped working a few weeks. The system was found to have been improperly installed in 2002 resulting in corrosion of the heat exchange wires which was clearly evident once the entire system was removed (by another company). Extremely disappointed with Climate Control a... read more
Climate Control prices are excessively high. After reading about similar issues on the internet, I realized that our flame sensor needed cleaning. I called Climate Control and told them what the problem was and made an appointment. They charged a $105 diagnostic fee and $265 for cleaning the burners and flame sensor. Browsing the internet, the going rate for this is $80-$160. We paid $370. The diagnostic fee is particularly galling since I had already diagnosed the problem. The dispatcher insists that they charge that every... read more
This is an addition to the review that Timothy R. placed on June 10, 2015. We are his parents and, yes, the AC quit the night before we were leaving for an extended trip. Not only have we used Climate Control for service in the past, but they are the ones who installed our heat pump. It was 3 years ago, almost to the day, that the AC died. They said it was a capacitor and charged us over $300 to replace it. Fast forward to this time it died. After so many problems in trying unsuccessfully to get the technician to even ... read more
GO TO SOMEONE ELSE My parents' air conditioner died on Sunday (the day before they left on a two and a half week trip) and they asked that I call Climate Control (they had used them in the past) while they were gone so they didn't have a sweltering house to come home to. They left Monday morning and I gave Climate Control a call later that day and talked to their dispatcher, Gary, who told me that the earliest they could get out to the house was Wednesday (two days later) with a window of 12-3 pm and he'd try to get them o... read more
DO NOT USE CLIMATE CONTROL!!! I REPEAT....DO NOT USE CLIMATE CONTROL!!!! This company does not even deserve a 1 star! To sum up a REALLY long story, we had them come out to fix our AC unit that they installed. The previous owners of our home had Climate Control install the unit. It was working, but not well. Climate Control came out, dismantled the unit up stairs and outside and then just left with nothing fixed or put back together again! To add to the distress, now the unit was non-operational and we couldn't even... read more
Wow, boy do I regret not reading these reviews before engaging this company to fix my central air conditioning! Like the other reviewers, I will never use this company again. And I will do my best to make sure others do not use them as well. Two main complaints: outrageous charges and non-existent customer follow-up. 1. After being charged $601: $298 for freon, $105 for diagnosis, and $198 for replacing a 30 amp fuse, I called the company to ask for an explanation of such a high bill. In particular, my online research ind... read more
