Climate Control prices are excessively high. After reading about similar issues on the internet, I realized that our flame sensor needed cleaning. I called Climate Control and told them what the problem was and made an appointment. They charged a $105 diagnostic fee and $265 for cleaning the burners and flame sensor. Browsing the internet, the going rate for this is $80-$160. We paid $370. The diagnostic fee is particularly galling since I had already diagnosed the problem. This is an addition to the review that Timothy R. placed on June 10, 2015. We are his parents and, yes, the AC quit the night before we were leaving for an extended trip. Not only have we used Climate Control for service in the past, but they are the ones who installed our heat pump. It was 3 years ago, almost to the day, that the AC died. GO TO SOMEONE ELSE My parents' air conditioner died on Sunday (the day before they left on a two and a half week trip) and they asked that I call Climate Control (they had used them in the past) while they were gone so they didn't have a sweltering house to come home to. DO NOT USE CLIMATE CONTROL!!! I REPEAT....DO NOT USE CLIMATE CONTROL!!!! This company does not even deserve a 1 star! To sum up a REALLY long story, we had them come out to fix our AC unit that they installed. The previous owners of our home had Climate Control install the unit. It was working, but not well. Climate Control came out, dismantled the unit up stairs and outside and then just left with nothing fixed or put back together again! Wow, boy do I regret not reading these reviews before engaging this company to fix my central air conditioning! Like the other reviewers, I will never use this company again. And I will do my best to make sure others do not use them as well. Two main complaints: outrageous charges and non-existent customer follow-up. 1. Avoid Climate Control. Their sales guy sounds like he knows his stuff, but the installation crew, the service department, repair techs, and even the owner have a complete lack of competence, professionalism, and responsiveness. Upon completion of my heat pump system installation, I asked the installers if one of the heaters was supposed to make that loud knocking noise. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I called them because the previous owner of our house used them. They WILL fleece you. Charged me over over $280 parts and labor to change out (unplug and plug in) a new ignitor for my gas furnace. I looked up the part on Amazon and it's a $25 part. Granted, they had the expertise to diagnose and fix the problem, but a 1000% markup is just robbery. Oh, and that $280 didn't include the extra $100 for the service call. Climate Control had installed the furnace for the previous homeowner, so we figured we'd stick with them when it started acting up. It is a top of the line Carrier furnace, only three years old - so we were already frustrated to have to deal with a problem. No problem setting up the appointment. We knew there would be a service call charge, but figured that would be applied to the repair cost. 16 year relationship is now over! I have had nothing but problems the last three times we have used them. Problems like way overcharging for a ten minute fix to selling us a faulty air filtration system that failed way before it was suppose to. Our heating system is on its last leg and they would have been the company to replace it.
