We are finally switching to a doctor closer to where we live (after 4 years) and wanted to write a review about how much we LOVED Coastal Kids. Dr. Brown is amazing, and so are the other doctors in this practice. We scheduled a few sick appointments with nurses and different doctors over the years, and were never disappointed. I never felt rushed, as I rattled off any seemingly random symptom or worried about growth curves for my tiny children (that unsurprisingly just match their parents). As a mom with high expectations, it can be difficult finding care that meets all of them from start to finish. When we lived in LA we went through 4 pediatricians before finding the right one but we found Coastal Kids as soon as we moved here in 2012 and I feel so grateful we did. I've yet to meet a medical office where everyone is cheerful and overly kind so that doesn't matter to me much. I just sort of expect it. We all have our bad days! I took my grandchild here on the recommendation of a friend we were visiting. We are from out of town and I really didn't expect the treatment we were given by the doctor here. He was completely through in his evaluation of my grandson. He even went out of his way to call his regular doctor in Georgia to make sure he was covering all bases. They have a very kind staff with compassion who got us in same day within a matter of a couple of hours. Such a blessing to us out of towners a big thank you! I highly recommend them!
Coastal Kids you have restored my faith in the medical system. We recently left our previous provider due to them not having our children's best interest at heart but the welcome my family received and the care is so appreciated. For a busy office everyone had a pleasant attitude and smiled at us when we came in, walking through the waiting room and when we were roomed. I have nothing but positive experiences with Dr.Pelinka and her staff. I been going to the newport office since my son was born 6 yrs ago. Dr. Pelika always answers all my questions and concerns. Also I will like to thank Alma Ordaz (front desk) there is one word to discribe this lady, she is AMAZING, always very professional, helpful and kind. Coastal Kids Providers and office staff are wonderful. I took my grandson in & the front receptionist was friendly & explained all the paperwork needed. The nurse was polite & respectful & patient with my grandson whom she could tell was nervous & a bit scared. But she stayed calm & friendly. One could tell she was experienced with children & all sorts of behavior. We waited quite a while for the doctor to come in, 40 minutes. We have been bringing our 3 kids here for four years (ages 4, 2 and newborn). Abelowitz (our main MD) has been an amazing physician; thorough, informative, relaxed, on time and very patient. Our experience with all the MDs, staff and NPs here and at the Laguna Niguel location has been exceptional. I regularly recommend this practice to friends and colleagues.
We have good experience with doctors and staff. However I could not give more than 3 as billing process is extremely badly organized and exhausting. 1.5 months after first visit I was surprised by bill from Coastal Kids. After carefully checking it I have found that my daughter's first name was misspelled, last name was misspelled, my last name as primary insurer was misspelled and finally they tried to bill wrong insurance company. I was a little nervous walking in the office since it was crazy busy!!! But I have to say that they handled it extremely well. As a dental hygienist I thought I knew busy but I would rather go into a office that's busy than one that isn't . Julie was truly amazing and walked me through my sons diagnosis, I never felt rushed or that I was a number.
