We have been patient's of Dr. /lyse Barons for over 8 years. We have followed her from Irvine to Newport. She is extremely professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and gentle. Dr. Baron is a mother of three children herself. I find it to be very helpful when my pediatrician is able to relate to my own circumstances with three children. Dr. Abelowitz is the best! He is so, so warm, kind and friendly as well as incredibly bright and thorough. I love that he is the perfect balance of concerned and relaxed. As a first time mom, I have always felt we are in the best hands at Coastal Kids NB! For those who say the staff is unfriendly or who have an issue with Dr. Abelowitz not remembering every minute detail of their child's life, this is my take on the matter. We continue to love Coastal Kids! My son has had pneumonia several times in his young life, and this office has been great. I had to rush him to urgent care again in December near closing and called ahead since by the time I'd get there, they'd be closed - and they said definitely bring him in. They never made me feel like an inconvenience even though they could've turned me away. The wait times can be long for appointments, but I would say for our well-visits, I don't usually have to wait more than 10-20 minutes. Somet... read more
My son has been a patient of Coastal Kids since he was born, and the care he receives is exceptional. We can always rely on the staff at Coastal Kids for being knowledgeable and caring. Dr Abelowitz is outstanding, as are the other doctors and nurses in the practice. Anytime I've needed to get my son in quickly for a well check or a sick visit, I've had no problem getting an appointment. I highly recommend Coastal Kids.
Until we moved, Dr. Baron was our pediatrician. She is great, very friendly, and does a good job remembering us, the parents, as people spending as much time as she can to get to know us and carry on conversations between visits. As one review I read mentioned, there can be long wait times. I just got used to it and assumed it would be an hour out of my day. My daughters pediatrician is Dr. Pelinka and I have to say, she is amazing!! When she comes in for the check up, she doesn't make you feel rushed like most doctors. Very personable and friendly... Calls u back promptly and takes the time to understand your child's situation rather than throwing out illnesses! I love her.. Wish she was a family practice as well :)
Dr. Baron is simply the best! She has a great bedside manner with both me and my 5 month old. She offers good advice, both from a physician's and parent's perspective. I saw Dr. Brown a couple times. She was nice and seems like a good dr., but just did not suit my needs as a new mom. The front desk and nursing staff are also wonderful.
Some of the BEST pediatricians in the OC. Have seen the majority of the Dr.'s in the office and have always been pleased but take my 8 week old daughter to see Dr. Amy Cox out of Ladera Ranch - we absolutely LOVE her. She is kind, has an unbelievable bedside manner, is readily available when needed, is conservative when it comes to treating (which is what you want with your child!) and is incredibly knowledgeable.
