Please see our response to their reply!! Home advisor said heat pump full installation would be $2,700-11,000 high end with average of $4,000-8,000. You can buy full systems for $3,000-4,500. They quoted us $12,000-15,000 and everything is already ran for ductwork, etc. asked about Geothermal heat pump but home advisors says $3,000-25,000 high end and he quoted us $35,000. Very frustrating when you feel they are trying to rip you off just because you have a nice home. He was very nice, here on time but it we are disappointe... read more

Business response:

It appears we have been confused with another company. We are not currently doing any work in Longview WA - we also provide a precise replacement cost, not a range. In checking our records, we did not provide proposals for anyone named Victoria in November. We hope the feedback gets to the correct party.

I would recommend them for installing a heat pump system. But after 6 years mine started dripping on my hardwood floors. I called and they recommended a service technician come out. Twelve minutes and $99 later it just needed the drip filter cleaned (he did in one minute in my bathroom sink) which I could have done over the phone.

I bought a new house and my only request was that the AC/Heating was in full working order. Columbia heating did the work prior to me moving in and i have the paperwork guarantee. I bought the house and the AC during the heat WAVE did not work. I called Columbia with my guarantee and they tell me I need a 2nd unit for a 2,500sq foot house. I know this is not the case as my house I just sold is 3,000sq ft and 1 unit worked amazing. I then get charged $100 for a service call AND on TOP of that he repairs a part of the unit for... read more

Would give Columbia northwest zero star review if possible. Had these guys out 4 years ago to install AC system. Had to have them come out 2 additional times to correct their poor installation. 1st time was to connect the return duct work to the furnace. I noticed that there was a fist sized gap where the return line connected to the top of the furnace that they forgot to close. The 2nd time was to fix one of the gas lines that they rerouted due to the installation. Amazingly enough it was only finger tight and was leak... read more

Found them though Home Depot. I needed a quote for a new furnace. Straight out he told me about how there was a deal that was "ending today" which was a red flag for me...I told him that I was looking for a quote for an installation maybe 2 months from now which was probably a red flag for him also because after I told him that he said something on the lines of "So when I leave today I'm not getting your business, correct?". He started offering deals and discounts for stuff that other companies had as a standard package d... read more

Business response:

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are always looking for ways to service our customers better. We share feedback positive and negative for training and development. The Home Depot does offer periodic, short term finance perks, such as 24 month financing that was ending on that day but it's not meant to be pushy. Our employees are trained that all customers are important.

Incompetent. I hired them through Home Depot to do a periodic cleaning and maintenance on my gas furnace. After cleaning the furnace, the technician could not get the blower fan to operate. He said the problem was a defective fan motor. He replace the fan motor, charged me $800 and left. The furnace heated but we later noticed that the furnace burner and fan were cycling on and off more frequently than necessary. I called the technician back and he claimed the problem could not have any relationship to the replaced fa... read more

Friendly workers BUT the (one) electrician they have had us within minutes of our house burning down. (See pics) The details? We have a 1951 house that (at the time) had 100amp service and the wires from PGE are only rated to 70amps. I asked before hiring, after hiring and during installation "shouldn't we upgrade to 200 amp before installing another 220 breaker to our already full box? Electrician all three times "Nope, you're good we do this all the time" Flash forward after one summer of using said AC, the 70 amp rates w... read more

We are very sorry you and your family had to experience such an event. We obtain permits for all projects we do, and the City of Portland inspected and approved the electrical portion of this project on May 19th 2017.

When I called for service, the receptionist said the charge would be $99. I thought that was cool... a flat rate fee for my furnace with my problem. I had given her the model and indicated the problem. Imagine my surprise when I had to pay $250 for a new control board, plus the $99 service call. OK, so be it. Then I looked online for the same board. I found 5 new boards for under $133, and a used but guaranteed board for $90. I called, indicated I was retired on a limited income and asked if perhaps they could adjust ... read more

My wife and I share ownership of a house with my retired dad in Hillsboro. When we moved in he wanted to replace the furnace (which wasn't necessary and which we still never use because we have wood burning stoves). So, I found a rep from Columbia NW at Home Depot and put him in contact with my dad. Long story short: the heater is installed but, soon after, the condensation unit malfunctioned (beeping alarm sounding constantly) and they wanted to charge $115 just to come look at it. Flash forward a few years to this Monday.... read more
