Tonight my husband and I decided to give Joellas hot chicken a shot. We had instant regret from the time he arrived at the restaurant to pick up our to go order. They handed him a cardboard box holding out "drinks" we ordered 2 juices and a gallon of sweet tea. They gave us milk for our kids when my husband corrected the woman working she said they were out of juice (thank God my kids don't have a dairy allergy) the we received what was supposed to be our gallon if sweet tea in these strange plastic side containers. Listen, you have one job. Just one! Chicken. I do not have any idea why you can't produce your one job... this is why I can't give stars... Chicken tenders are not chicken... they are chicken strips. Maybe it was one of those days for this store. I placed an Online order at 5:30pm. Notification estimated food would be ready at 5:41pm, I got there at around 5:45. I waited in the store and received food at 6:15. I don't mind waiting but 45 minutes for two chicken plates and a few sides seems pretty intense. I did not complain just waited near the front for my food. I was given an apology for the wait time and two cards for a free chicken plate. That perked me up. Then I get home. The chicken is what you expect, however one of their staple items on the menu is chicken and waffles. There is just something about the waffles that they are not even as tasteful as the ones you make in the morning at a Hampton inn.. I paired it with the spiked honey which I believe is suppose to be the first level above mild, but I will be honest it has a bit of kick to it, and for some older folks this may be too much, a straight honey would be a better option. I was so excited when Joella's said they were coming to Hamburg. I have given this place at least 10 or more tries and not once have they gotten my order correct! I want to like it but my chicken Is always tough and I never get the right sides. I've complained and I get a nice email but I can only go so far. Joella's please pay attention! The food is too expensive not to be correct! I'm a nice person but I'm going to have to find another chicken place!

Waited 10 minutes at the register while all the staff was joking around loudly in the back room. Finally had one worker come out laughing so hard she couldn't tell us sorry like it seemed she was trying to as she walked past us. Did not even serve us. Another worker came out with the same energy but quickly snapped into unpersonable. She tried to up charge us the entire time we were ordering even though we explicitly said we didn't want to spend the extra money. I want to like this place I really really do. However we have tried getting take out from there twice in the past 4 months and both times they have messed up the order. Yesterday we were missing a side out of one box and it had an extra different type of dipping sauce in it we didn't ask for. One box had two pieces of chicken in it instead of chicken tenders and the wrong sauce and the third was the only one that was correct. 1 of 3. The worse customer service I have ever encountered. Black lady with funky hair color I believe was a manger was rude disrespectful and told me to never come back because I felt waiting 20+ minutes was not acceptable and they were NOT busy maybe 4 people in whole restaurant. I would have understood had it been busy. Never will patron this place again
