TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

I visited Dave's hot chicken for the first time today. There was a long line, so I knew it had to be good. Hans took my order at the register. He is the true definition of customer service and leadership. He was friendly, thorough, and efficient. I will definitely be back.

Dave's hot chicken is truly the first of its kind in West Pines and I was STOKED when i saw it coming in. We waited a bit while the hype died down a little because the first week or two the line was out the door! We stopped in after studying the menu and walked up knowing exactly what we wanted. As a fast casual spot, you order at the counter and then they give you a buzzer to wait for your food. The food was fine. The toast was surprisingly disappointing. We came at 5 PM on a Saturday and surprisingly waited a long time (30 minutes) although it was empty. The restaurant smelled awful inside to the point where when we left people were waiting in a line to sit on the patio.
this was my very time coming to Daves Hot Chicken & Matthew was a huge help, he explained everything on the menu whats the best thing here!!
Dave's Hot Chicken is my absolute favorite chicken place. I first tried them in Oregon several years ago and have been waiting for a local restaurant to open. We stopped by opening day and were not disappointed. The place was clean and staff friendly even though they were packed with a line out the door. Waited until the hype and lines died down to give this new spot a try. I can see the potential hype but personally thought it was good but not great. Overall everything was flavorful. Warning on the reaper heat level as it is no joke!!!
