TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Came on the first day but the line was way too long to stand in the heat so I decided to wait it out. Went back last Friday and it had no line..my lucky day! I've been waiting for Dave's to finally reach South Florida so you know the expectations were high. Decided to stop in for lunch to try out the newest spot in town. My boyfriend and I both got the #3 which came with one tender, one slider, and fries. The tenders were delicious, super crunchy, and had great flavor. The slider was just ok, it was kinda soggy and didn't have much slaw. The slaw that it did have didn't have any flavor. I became a HUGE fan of Dave's Hot Chicken while visiting LA a couple years ago and was ecstatic to see a location opening up in Pembroke Pines. I checked the location weekly as they were building out the storefront until it finally opened in August of 2024. I went in twice within a couple days and am doing this review based on my combined, yet very similar experience. While all the employees were exceptionally nice, it was also exceptionally slow. The customer service and the food were both amazing. The workers were insanely kind and helpful and the food is exactly how I remember it in LA.
Went to grand opening and the food was hot and fresh very tasty. That we vent the very next day for lunch again
Went the day after their grand opening and was upset my friend was making me wait an hour but we drove almost an hour so we had to. I just prayed this chicken would be worth the wait and it sure was!! The customer service was amazing. They kept checking on us and I was surprised since it was slammed, I would be stressed but every worker was so sweet! Solid 4. Best hot chicken in the area (not many competitors though), but wouldn't wait in line for it either. I recommend going when the hype dies down.
The food is fire. That's the most important thing to know. The best hot chicken in the area. The fries are seasoned well. The meat tastes fresh. Everything was perfect with the food.
