Dave's hot chicken is truly the first of its kind in West Pines and I was STOKED when i saw it coming in. We waited a bit while the hype died down a little because the first week or two the line was out the door! We stopped in after studying the menu and walked up knowing exactly what we wanted. As a fast casual spot, you order at the counter and then they give you a buzzer to wait for your food. The food was fine. The toast was surprisingly disappointing. We came at 5 PM on a Saturday and surprisingly waited a long time (30 minutes) although it was empty. The restaurant smelled awful inside to the point where when we left people were waiting in a line to sit on the patio.

Dave's Hot Chicken is my absolute favorite chicken place. I first tried them in Oregon several years ago and have been waiting for a local restaurant to open. We stopped by opening day and were not disappointed. The place was clean and staff friendly even though they were packed with a line out the door. I had the sliders and fries meal in medium, mac & cheese and a vanilla shake. Medium is just spicy enough that you get a little kick but can still taste your food. Everything was great. Waited until the hype and lines died down to give this new spot a try. I can see the potential hype but personally thought it was good but not great. Overall everything was flavorful. Warning on the reaper heat level as it is no joke!!! I ate the whole chicken sandwich with the reaper flavor and boy did I regret it The chicken does sit heavy in your stomach and I think one sandwich is more than enough to have .... 3rd visit here at Dave's and they're pretty consistent. My first visit I got the mild spice, my second visit I got the medium spice and today I got the hot spice. Hot was the perfect spice, not too too hot and not too mild. Just a heads up, the spice level from medium to hot is a jump. The service is solid and the wait time isn't terrible but you will wait 20-25 min for your food as an average wait time. Overall, Dave's has it! 4 G's.

Absolutely amazing chicken wow wow. On top of everything it is halal. Definitely recommend it. A little pricey but worth it.
