I visited my friend at this place earlier this week. Before I got to her room I was actually impressed how the rehab therapy rooms looked that I passed going to her room. Very clean and orderly. As I entered her room, I saw the woman in Bed 1 struggling to get herself on the bed. She was half in and half out of her bed pressing on the buzzer for a nurse to help her. THE ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE TO BRING ANY FAMILY MEMBER OR FRIEND PERIOD. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT bring ANY person her especially if they are a loved one. The worthless unknowable, lazy, rude staff will disappoint both you and your loved ones. Unfortunately I've had two family members in this place over the years and it's been nothing but disappointment after disappointment. DANGEROUS FACILITY-Incompetent staff, negligent medical care, arrogant administration especially Bianka, the case manager.. They need to be inspected for medical negligence. Example: my father who had a stroke 4 weeks ago, was just released today from 2 weeks in Health South during which time: 1) His wound ( a hematoma on his arm caused by falling when having a stroke ) which was supposed to be monitored daily was neglected for 3 days at a time- twice. 1st review ever-- If it weren't for the THERAPISTS there, HealthSouth care would be awful. The therapy team was fantastic. Lauren, Courtney, Marly, Rachel, Rebecca etc were phenom! The patient care techs are awful with the exception of Georgia! Georgia is top notch! The patient care techs are a miserable group of mostly lazy and constant complainers. I rarely write reviews, but I feel I need to warn those who have loved ones placed in this facility. It's very pretty and looks good, but it is almost impossible to find out any information. I live in California and my mother was there after I had to return home. I called every day and never received a call back. I was called AFTER she was released, telling me that she WOULD be released. Avoid this place. They are in love with their 7 to 14 day self-stated reputation for getting your loved ones back on their respective feet. What you will discover, as I did, is that your loved one will be out in that time frame regardless. Literally, the date set when my mother was there her second day is the date they are going to put her out. I was a patient at this facility. THE PHYSICAL THERAPY STAFF was great and that's the only good thing I am able to say about Health South. The nurses were extremely disrespectful and, although I was instructed never to leave my bed without assistance, No one ever came to help me walk to the rest room when I rang for them. There were times I walked to the nursing station to ask for help because I did not want to soil my bed sheets. This is the worst rehab center one can go into! Dr Levey is not compassionate to patients a nasty attitude! The physical therapist have no humanistic approach to patient needs! after 6 days I had to get my sister out of this place! She had to wash herself in the bed there were two nurses out of I don't know how many work the floor that were decent and one caring nurse assistant! Very bad experience at this rehab for my father. Shortly after being admitted, his condition started to deteriorate. He was not able to eat or drink and was not able to go to therapy. This went on for a week while we were concerned for his health. We stayed with him at all times and attempted unsuccessfully to encourage food and fluid. We constantly spoke with the doctor that he need to either go back to the hospital or go home on hospice.
