You do NOT have to buy insurance, tell them you want to sign the opt out form for insurance, they have an opt out form standing by. If they look confused or look at you like you're crazy, just look back like they're crazy for trying to force insurance on you. Yes they reserve the right to raise your rent every 6 months, They will do so for at least the first two 6-month cycles. Started out great. The person helping me on the phone was helpful and was able to reserve my space with zero hassle. Told me reservation was good for 7 days and I can just go in and fill out the paperwork the day I'm moving in. The day of move in, I have my movers on their way and I just finished filling out paperwork. NOW they lay on me that they need me to purchase their insurance or they can't rent me the unit. This place is OK. It is far from SF and beware: they raise their price $10/month every year- this is not a good place if you are looking to store one year plus!!! I was frustrated with the graduated price increase because once your stuff is in storage is difficult and costly to move.

Very irritated by the fact that I cannot pay my bill online, over the phone or by the mobile app because none of these methods work. Up until last month I was paying my bill online and through the mobile app, but the website has suddenly stopped working and the app won't let you log in. I went into the location today in hopes of figuring out a solution to my problem, but was met with no solution. The woman I talked to had no options for me. I have had other storage units for years and I have never had the problems that I have with this Place. I was only told that the rent would go up at 5th month and 9th month by about 10 dollars. What they failed to say is that it is every 5 months and 9 months that the rent would go up. So I elected not to sign an arbitration agreement I was told I would have to move out in a month. Buyer beware these people are liar and cheats.

Go somewhere else!!! There prices are so high and their payment policy isn't very friendly. They don't accept partial payment so if you are behind and just want to pay what you can, then forget about it. They only accept full payment, no exceptions.

Beware - Extra Space Storage will extort you! They admitted to me that their policy is to offer a low introductory rate & then raise your price 10% every 6 months thereafter. They count on the fact that you won't want to move once you are in.... I wish I'd known this before I rented from them. Avoid the blackmail, put your stuff somewhere else!

I've been a loyal customer of this facility since 2003 when it was still AAAA Self Storage. Paid my monthly yearly and have given them my business for all those years, no complaint. On December 2011, they had a break in, unfortunately, my unit was one of those that had been burglarized. Received ONE phone call from them in December with the Manager asking me if i could check my unit, as there "had been suspicious activity" in the building. I rented a 10x10 drive-up unit in Sept 2007 for the web rate of $172 a month. In four years the rent went up 6 times and when I closed it Friday it was up to $275. When I googled the address for the movers I saw that they had the price for my unit listed as $208 (web rate) and $245 (on-site rate). I feel like they ripped me off for several years. If you rent from them you better keep an eye on their "posted" rates.
