I moved out of my unit today and there was Rat poop and urine all over our stuff. My wife's wedding dress was there and it is destroyed due to rat urine. This place is not what I thought it would be. I would never recommend a place that lets this happen to their customers.

DO NOT STORE YOUR BELONGINGS HERE. First off, like others have mentioned, we also found rat droppings in our unit. Luckily, all of our stuff was in plastic containers. But that isn't even the worst of it. After storing our belongings here for months, we went to start emptying our unit out and noticed the people in the unit next to ours had CUT OUT A HUGE PORTION OF THE SHARED WALL to get into our unit. This business is incredibly dishonest, fraudulent and run by crooks. As proof, these extra space storage crooks advertise a 4x8 storage unit for $130 but as a long time customer, I'm charged $188 for the same 4x8 unit and now the Extra space storage crooks want to increase my rate to $220!!! Ridiculous!!!! Do not do business with this dishonest and unethical company.

If you have to accept the burden of a storage facility unit and if alongside north 280 is useful, then do yourself a favor and talk to Jovita the store manager at 3601 Junipero Serra. Jovita gets 5 stars. But the facility overall loses 1 star due to not providing access to my unit after 10 pm, and because their staff buggy doesn't have a magnet on the bottom to pick up nails and screws and stray metal shards from the ground as they travel around the property.

I am trying to move out of my storage unit because they keep raising the price of my SMALL unit so I walked into the business and was hit in the face by the smell of urine. READ BEFORE DOING BUSINESS HERE!!!!! I'm disturbed that I even have to come on here and share my experience with this company. I would avoid this place. TLDR: they bait & switch with the cheap price and the inside reeks of urine. My husband and I did a lot of research on our options when we needed to move some belongings to make room for a new baby in our apartment. Be aware that the storage units in the SF Bay area are ~4x or more for a similar unit ~120 miles away. Notwithstanding that, these expensive units often lack basics such as security cameras.

Extra Space Storage offers a low price up front to lure you in, and then jacks up the rate at 3 months. Predatory. I rented a small storage space in Colma for about $85 dollars per month. After 3 months, I received a Rate Change Notice increasing the rent to $148 - a 75% increase. The Notice stated the increase was due to "current market conditions".
