Great location in the center of San Ramon and highly secure. Gate hours are way longer than most places I have ever used before. The gate itself is at an odd angle so be careful when pulling in and out, but otherwise, a professional storage place that I highly recommend.
Gave notice of move out date online but didn't call the onsite manager (Graham), which apparently is what you need to do in order to get an adjustment on your bill. I was billed the full month's fee on 16th and move out date was the 19th. No accommodation or adjustment given. Annoyed and disappointed. Leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the company.

When I selected Extra Space Storage, I believed their ads that the facility was safe and secure. WRONG! I had two interior storage units at the San Ramon location. Last year, one of the units was broken into, along with two other units on that asile. At the time, i was led to believe that this was a unique occurrence. I have had a storage unit here for 3 years. In that time, the price increased 50%. Recently, the manager notified me that my lock (which I purchased from Extra Space) was unlocked and that I should come inspect my unit. The unit was burglarized. The perpetrators broke my lock and left it on the door. I learned that there have been several other thefts at the facility and this seems to happen frequently within the industry. Beware...BAIT and SWITCH! I rented a unit in June and received a notice that my rent will go up in October by 33%! I now know that at least one class action suit has been filed against the company. They don't even answer the phone number listed on the rate change notice.
So I came to store a few items and completed the application online. I have two different drivers license from different states. I somehow completed the application incorrectly which I assume caused red flags. Ive rented at extra space in the past, so there's nothing bringing in my drivers license wouldn't clear up. The rent was almost doubled within a month! It is insane, especially during this difficult time for everyone. New customers are charged less for the same unit than an existing customer. This place does not value their customers' loyalty.

I would give this place ZERO stars after my disgusting experience here yesterday. I went in looking for a unit, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Graeme Pittock, as soon as i was greeted I notice him look DIRECTLY at my breasts. I let it slide as mistakes happen, BUT it was continuous. He repeatedly was looking directly at my chest the entire time we were talking. I felt completely violated. This place use to be very good, last several times I rent unit from them, they treat you very well and their service was great. Few days ago I made a reservation online for first floor 5x10 unit and made an appointment to come today. I showed up today and the lady said that they have sold my reserved unit to someone else and she no longer has the unit I reserved for available.
