Extra Space Storage - An Excellent Change! I've been a customer of this Thornton Avenue storage facility since it opened years ago as All-Aboard Mini Storage. The facility changed ownership, and it is now Extra Space Storage. Over the years, I received excellent customer service. Veronica is the nicest on-site manager! She was great helping my friend and I into our new unit (which was by the way, at a discounted price). Everything is gated and secured and this is a brand new location so all the units are nice and new. I also decided to go with this place because they offer the most hours of accessibility (6am-10pm, at least 3 hours more than the other storage companies) which was a big thing for me. So after less than two months they jacked up my rent on a 10X10 by $114 a month and won't let me pay the original amount in advance and an Emily left a phone number 8188454874 with prompts and all but no Emily just pay here shady practice here pay in advance if you plan on storing here or deal with thieves

UPDATE: Almost one month after closing my unit, I just received a notice yesterday that my rent is going up to $519!!! You can't make this $h!t up! 1) I no longer rent a unit with this company. 2) do they have a max ceiling on rent increase ? I strongly advise all renters to save yourself frustration and start looking elsewhere.

DO NOT GET A STORAGE UNIT HERE. I genuinely want to save you from being robbed. The price that you initially pay will get DOUBLED in the space of 6 months. I have have two "rate increases" that they do not inform you are happening they just charge you and hope you won't notice. "That's just the policy" When I called they said "oh well we sent out a postcard" (never received either time, bs, they email all other information so thats interesting. Great location, cleanliness, friendly staff (Imani). I would've gone to the mom and pop storage nearby but they don't open on certain holidays when I have time to go through stuff, so ESS it was. Downside- rising rent. At least it's forcing me to go through my stuff and clear it out! On weekends sometimes you'll see someone fixing their car in the driveway within the gate. That seems odd. Maybe it's the people who live here.
When I first came to this location in our town the price seemed fair, until every month the price would change and fluctuate. I started at $135 and now I pay close to $200. They don't warn you and the excuse as to why does the price changes every month is ridiculous. This place is a scam, and has it little hustle in keeping your storage after not being able to make the payments. See after raising my rent by 70%!!! They increased rent from $130 to $210 on my 4th month, without notice. Moving out today.

Bait and switch! AVOID. First off I have no issues with the service. The manager is very friendly and helpful. This review is directly aimed at the purposefully deceptive tactics of the company. We were quoted a fair price at first, so I made arrangements to move into the unit. I was storing a motorcycle, so this involved draining all the fluids, then finding and hiring a tow service to take the bike to the storage unit. All my cost of course which is fine.
