This place was affordable or at least comparable to other storage places near by. But I am now paying $230 for a 5×10. It has almost doubled since I first started renting 2 years ago. I am not forced to loom for a new storage facility. At this point I might as well rent a three bedroom apartment for the extra room to store my things. Started at 256 for 10x15, raised to 440 in 2 years even though advertised as 271 right now. Elderly dad on an extremely tight budget had to move All of his heavy stuff across town, even though they are advertising for a much lower price right now. This should not be legal, and in my opinion is extremely predatory to raise the prices this quickly and this unreasonably in such a short period of time. I just called to pay my bill and the hired help (you know who you are) was rude and sarcastic! When asked to explain a foreclosure on my unit that I make payments on each month, she said she had to look into it. Nothing to look into, she just didn't have an answer because she's an idiot with a smart mouth and dumb as a box of rocks. How do you foreclosure on someone who HAS NOT missed a payment?? I fell on hard times and was unable to pay my storage for a few months. Thankful God blessed me and put me back on top. The thing is extra storage space said I owed over a $1000 for missing my rent for 4 months when I was paying $140/month for my unit and insurance. So they told me they were going to auction off my unit and would know how much I would owe after that. When I first found this location I was very excited. I had been illegally locked out by my landlord during a pandemic not to mention being made homeless and disabled!!! I rented three units and there were plenty empty units still remaining. When I finally loaded my belongings into the units it was clear I only needed two. I asked for the corporate number as they charged me for all three despite me not using one, having empty units and me actually in good faith renting a smaller unit from them. When you get you're unit Dan the manager is very helpful asking to give him a great help review , when you end you're storage unit Dan the managers could be more professional. I won't be coming back if I ever need, another storage unit at Extra space storage at the Simi valley location.

This place and Dan is a joke . They raise the rent every couple of months. There's always something broken , like the gate to get in or the doors to get into the storage units . Dan will always give you wrong information and play stupid like he never said that . They called me when I was 8 months pregnant and said my unit was empty and asked if I was moving out . Not surprising this place has such low reviews. The manager Dan is absolutely rude. He lies regarding various "insurance" that is offered with the storage facility swears he doesn't know that home owners insurance and renters covers the storage facility and then talks bad about your insurance company when you say it does. I also felt very discriminated against when trying to deal with Dan Daniels, I guess being a young mexican American guy just means I get worst customer service. This is the worst storage facility in Simi Valley don't ever use it the customer service sucks the management is terrible and I'm pretty sure the manager on Friday July 14th 2017 was smoking drugs of some kind with two people in the parking lot. I don't know what a rig is but he kept asking me if I have one.
