Extra Space Storage lures customers in with low "promotional" rates, then doubles the price within months. After just four months, my rate jumped $88, with no real justification beyond "market demand." Their only notification? The customer service at these facilities is terrible! The representatives that answer the phones locally and their main customer service line are definitely not qualified to do what they do. Very difficult to work with and if we had known this from the beginning we would not have stored our belongings there. Our rent started at $105 in December 2024 and has now increased to $181 for the exact same unit. Unbelievable! We also have a Power of Attorney and were told that it was no good to them!!!! Anti-veteran to thier core. Once you fall 10 days behind on a payment, they harass with phone calls, texts and emails. I am a homeless veteran, they couuld care less. After less than 30 days late, they slapped with a fee that costs more than the monthly lease payment. I asked if I could just get my stuff out and be gone, they refuse. They would rather keep your stuff, essentially stealing it, and not let me have any access to my dead daughters belongings, my military medals like my purple heart and anything else. Extra Space Storage Uses Deceptive ************** Business Practices I rented a unit at $60/month, but after six months, my rate jumped to $128 without warningno email, no call, nothing. When I called, they immediately dropped it to $90, proving they inflate rates to see what they can get away with. Terrible. Doubled my payments in one month and when I called them to discuss it the person on the phone was very rude and dismissive.

They are charging people ***** late fees. This should not happen. A lock down of entrance should suffice.

Extra Space Storage I rent a storage unit by Feb 2024 with a low rate $25, within 3 months by May 2024 there was a price increase over $50. I called to complaint to the location manager which she agree to lower to $42. Today 2/16/2025 I have received a rate change note that my monthly payment will be $78 plus tax. This is outrageous.!!! Price has gone up by 300% this is price gouging.

Uses bait-and-switch business practices to trap people with higher rental payments than initially agreed to. Nearly doubled my rent for my 4th month and notified me via what looked like junk mail. Failed to notify me via email, which has been the main source of communication between this company and myself. Did not sign agreement acknowledging potential for rental increases.

I rented at $72/month in August 2024 and pre-paid 4 months. In January I saw they were now charging me $155/month. I contacted them and they said they had increased the monthly charge based on the market rate, and that since I was month-to-month they had the right to do so, and had sent me a notification of the rate change by **** in November. I never received it. I reached out and they wouldn't budge, and were rude. *****!
