Im warning anyone thinking of renting from Extra Space Storage. This company operates on the very definition of bait and switch. Youd think a newer location would want to build trust and keep customers, but instead they pull stunts like this.I signed up for a unit at what I thought was a fair, clearly listed price. Sheisters, dont waste your time and money. We came on a promotional rate of about $135/month and within just a few months they are doubling the cost!
DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE, Will take your money for storage unit, no problem, but you are on your own after that, they will not answer the phone, will not return an email. Use chat, good luck. They will tell you on chat that the only thing they can do is forward your number to a person that will get back to you in a few days, Zero customer service. They double billed me in 1 month and then overbilled me the next few months. Manager is not willing to reimburst me for over billing me though we had a year contract. Dont store at this company they have a chain of them.
They price gauge. Rent has doubled since I got the unit while online the prices remain low.
I am seeking to sue this place I have been going through a hard time and had to rent a unit I signed a agreement for $73 after a few months Im now paying $190 I understand a late fee although that is extremely high but how do raise a rate I didnt sign to nor did I receive a letter because I do not live at the address I left from or I would not need a storage unit!! I will be removing my things asap and seeking a lawyer
After 3 months they raised my storage space fee by 60%. With no notice.
If I could leave a zero star I would. I initially rented a unit for $189 per month, on a month to month basis. 2 months later they inflated that price to $288 per month. When I called they said $189 was a promotional rate, which I was never notified of. Now 6 months later I received a card in the mail say they are charging me $368.00 per month. I will never sign up for automatic payments again! I was not notified of a rate increase of nearly double what I was paying. Extra space storage said they sent a card by mail to my previous address but it was never forwarded to my new address. I spoke to them several times and they really don't care about customers at all. I asked why didn't they send a courtesy email or text, they said it was against their policy.
