Came to try their monthly special a lamb gyro, which was amazing!!! I also got a 2meat combo of brisket burnt ends, smoked wings with mac & greens and brussel sprouts. While the briskets wasn't caramelized in sauce like I'm use to, it was moist, tender & still very good. I love smoked wings so couldn't go wrong with them. Their sauces are the best!! Always good! They have really tasty sauces. Highly recommend you get anything here but stack up on the sauces
Typical bbq joint with the picnic tables and the smell of smoke and ribs. Food: we ordered the ribs, chicken, Mac n cheese, beans and potato salad. I loved everything except the potato salad it wasn't flavorful and it taste very bland. The ribs were seasoned and delicious to say the least. The Mac n cheese was also a hit. I would visit them again if I am ever in the DC area
Amazingly fatty beef ribs. A serious disappointment. They tasted ok. No BBQ on side as ordered.
After a work trip in Kansas City, where I got some really good burnt ends, I was looking for a spot out in DC that had some. Federalist Pig was recommended to me. So I got burnt ends and some rib tips to try. The burnt ends were covered in sauce, which took away from the experience. I prefer a good bark in which there wouldn't be a need for bbq sauces. It's not what I thought it would be! It wasn't good like ppl hype it up to be. Do not get the Mac and Cheese
I'm not sure what this was but it was not barbecue. I ordered moist brisket ...it might've been moist 3 days ago when it seems it was cooked but today it was dry as all get out. The smoked wings had good flavor but again so dryyy like they were left on the smoker all day. The rib tips....dry ?! Red potatoes in potatoes salad??? The Cole slaw was also dry?! I want to start with saying that I truly love your food, your one of the best places to eat in the city. although I have tried to order pork for the last 3 times and you never have any? how can you have the word pig in your name but never have any? you never have any banana pudding desert either . I just thought you should know that people are hungry lol also very sick of not being able to order what's on your menu. thanks for your horrible service !!
