Don't let the outside fool you, this place is on point. The pull pork is amazing. The price is not that expensive either.

I came here in a Saturday afternoon, the place wasn't crowded, it was clean, spacious and service didn't take too long. This place is exactly the same type of bbq I get when I am Texas, some variety of quality meet. The place had everything to be rated a 5 stars, I had the brisket as a meat, mac & cheese, and fries as side dishes, they provided some amazing six varieties of bbq sauce on each table. The food was delicious, meat was very tender, very well priced $32 dollars for everything for two people. Unfortunately our bri... read more

I visited yesterday for the first time for their weekday "lunch happy hour." The food was pretty good but there is room for improvement. The lunch happy hour is offered Monday-Friday from 11:30 AM to 5 PM and offers $3 draft beers, half-priced shares, and a "one step" lunch platter with 1/3 lb any meat and any side for $14. If you look at their website you will have no idea what prices are in advance -- almost nothing has a price on it. There's no excuse to omit prices on your website in 2023. It's lazy and customer-unfrie... read more

My son and I love BBQ! We went later in the day and wanted to try everything! We order the 3 meat combo and got extra sides so we could taste it all. Burnt ends were his favorite, I loved the pulled pork. It come out unsauced so you can really taste the meat and sauce to your liking. The 6 sauces on the table range from spicy to sweet to KC style. They even offer ranch as an option but we didn't try it because that's not our style! The green beans were ok, the Brussels sprouts and potato salad won my votes for favorite sides... read more

Ok food, fair service. Outdoor ambiance was not too comfy. Did eat the best part. We wanted takeout to bring to and eat at my mother's place. My son, his gf and I, all NYC born and bred, were headed back to Silver Spring MD after a day in the Smithsonian art museums at the Capitol Mall. (Don't miss the Great tribute to the Americans of Japanese descent who were forced into concentration camps from the Western US States during World War II, find it!) Back to the food, a little sweet and not complex in herbs but still tasty di... read more

Hello Bunji, we appreciate your feedback. It would be helpful to learn more about your experience. Was there an issue with our outdoor picnic tables? As for vegetarian/vegetable options, we have chipotle green beans, Brussels sprouts, corn on the cob, and cauliflower burnt ends. We are also currently featuring 3 different vegetarian sandwich specials. Contact us at info@federalistpig.com so we can discuss more.

Visiting DC and decided to get some BBQ, all meats were excellent, brisket, burnt ends, ribs, chicken and sausage. Cauliflower Burn ends were really good. Mac n cheese, green beans, potatoes and coleslaw were ok. Brussels sprouts and beans were really good. Overall a great place to visit if your in DC and want some legit BBQ.

This is a great bbq joint with plant-based dishes. We ordered take out and it's so delicious. Love the variety of unique sauces. Already thinking of when I'll go in and dine!

Came here to pick up a sandwich for lunch and ordered the club sandwich. The meat was really really good and the different types of sauces they have are definitely worth trying as well.
